It's a 140 mile drive for me to Peggy Sue's Diner in Yermo. So Im not 100% sure yet. Also what are some good hand held radios to buy? Or should I just say fuck it and get a CB...

Yeah, I'm going to be on the same side of the freeway but south of you.
Do you take a dirt road off of Peggy Sue's? Or do you continue on the 15?

BTY Glad  to see you back on the trails. We need to do another Joe's Italian Ice Night. I still have my punch card.
I love standing next to a busy street with cars zooming by....

It's a bit of a drive for all of us but trust me when I say its well worth the drive. Don't waste your money on a CB. Get a Ham. Think this is the one a bunch of people have right now http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007H4VT7A
Looks like proforce has a couple people can use on Sunday...put your reservation in now.

I usually run up Yermo road for a couple of miles to Minneola from Peggy Sues then onto the dirt road that run along the south side of the railroad tracks. You can run freeway speeds on them anyways.....nice and smooth most of the way to the cutoff into the Mojave river.

Thanks its great to be back on the trails. I'm even getting radiation on my head everyday but weekends until the 14th of May but i'm feeling good so I might as well keep doing this. Especially when the wife asks "are you going out this weekend"....I was like...uh ya thinking about it. I wasn't, but hell if she suggesting it imma outta here!

I'm heading out tonight and I my truck is full. We have 4 or 5 families going too. I have no chance of leaving camp me getting out there. Post the frequency, I'll have my ham out listening maybe I can track/monitor the airwaves in between SxS runs.

The distance isn't my concern, my main concern is hitting the returning Vegas traffic on the way home. Thanks for the link! I'm gonna check them out now!

I'm very interested in running the Mojave again. I've been itching to get back there since I ran it a few weeks ago (East to West) with my kid. Sadly I got flu like symptoms on day 1 of 3. So as you can imagine, we didn't finish the trail. Can I put in my reservation for one of the two available HAM radios? I'll keep the post updated if anything changes and I can't make it. Thanks guys.

    Edit: That LV traffic though.

Can you tell me more about this map? Are you using it as a downloaded offline map on a tablet or phone?

He has a trailer in Parker, Arizona on the river. He drives it on the roads around there a bit to get to trails, and I think a beer runs if needed lol.

Its a screen shot of one of my Mojave runs. I use the Viewranger app on my Ipad mini intergrated into my dash. It works with Apple, android and the Kindle fire. Here is a link
    http://www.viewranger.com/en-us

Yes I am using it as a downloaded offline map . You do have to download the maps of the areas you are going to but for $14.99 it comes with the ability to download the whole US Topo with trails.
I use a Dual XGPS 150A that bluetooths to my ipad so I get a GPS signal no matter where I am at. My Ipad is the WIFI version so it required the external GPS but i'm also not dependent on any kind of cell signal ever hence the reason I went this route. Link to the GPS puck http://gps.dualav.com/explore-by-product/xgps150a/
Heres a shot of the Ipad in my dash

So I think I'm in, I think I found a route to come home that would avoid all the traffic coming back from vegas. I could take the 58 from the 15 and hit the 14? unless tha majave trail goes between the 15 & 14?
