No, I have the D2S. The solenoid works perfectly when I use a 9V battery and it works perfectly fine when I start the lights up. it is only after a few minutes that it stops working.

I wonder if the lights are heating up the mechanics that move down the shelf, and due to thermal expansion, seizing them up.

Did you check your wire connections to that solenoid? If it's happening just on the one side I'd be inclined to swap the wiring so that the passenger side is hooked up to what you currently have hooked up on the drivers side and then test the lights and see if the problem switches sides or not. May need to use some jumper wires to extend the cables but running the test will start ruling some things out.

Oops not sure if you are saying even the 9v battery stops actuating the solenoid after the lights warm up? If so I'd be inclined to agree with Black007 if the solenoid only wants to run cold. That or maybe something got slightly tweaked or bent on the mechanism and the heat expansion is just enough to make it bind up.

Hi everyone. thanks for trying to help me sole this.
There is no click. I will try it with the battery when the lights have been running for a bit and wont work on the harness.
Will get back and let you know if it works.

So I just put my lights on, tested the high beam a few times, and it worked. After running for a few minutes the high beam on the passenger side would no longer turn on. I disconnected it and tried using a 9v battery. Also did not work. Therefore I conclude that it must be the solenoid that stops working when it gets warm. As I am OCD, this irritates me. Does anyone have a fix for this? Or will I have to get a replacement?

    Thanks

@gym_jamz same here no sound. It'll work when I put it in. Then it stops when I have everything buttoned up

I got a splitter with my MotoControl wiring kit and I'm not sure what it is for. Is this for DRLs or fogs or something?

It has the same connectors as the ballast and control wiring and is all nicely terminated and about 8 inches long but it doesn't seem like there is anyplace to use it.

    Anyone know?

    TIA

It does sound like something is wrong with that solenoid or perhaps a bad connection on the wiring to the solenoid. I'd probably check with Andrew on this.

That wire is used to test your ballast; igniting the ballast without your harness

Does anyone know if the projectors can be rigged so that the headlight turns off when the switchback is in turn signal mode? the switchback amber gets kind of washed out when the projector is on.

Definitely don't want to do that. HIDs aren't meant to be on and off all the time like that.

Hey Andrew, would a retrofit work with these new fangled LED headlights? Or would I be better off getting a set of halogen projectors for that? or is there even a difference? I'm just not a huge fan of having ballasts floating around and having the light warm up and all that.
