Aren't you not supposed to use the air bags to attain lift?

You "can" use them for lift, but you will be making your ride stiffer in the process.

I had a quick question for you guys. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Ride Rite kit. I have a 4wd and it calls for part # 2407 but I have found a kit with part # 2410 (looks to be for 2wd tacomas)
I'm assuming the 2wd kit will not fit a 4wd truck, but I have searched the Internet and the forum and didn't find an answer, so if anyone has any input I would appreciate it.

I wouldn't chance it. The 2410 kit is probably for 5-lug 2wd Tacomas which have less space between the leaf springs and frame. Parts could be very different...

Ya there must be a difference because one time someone here on kijiji had a new 2407 kit and said he was selling it because he had a 2wd

I was considering upgrading to wheeler's bump stops in the rear for my '13 Baja... my truck has aful ride quality right now which Im going to have the dealer look at.

When these are pumped up to the said 8psi, do they absorb alot of the jarring from smaller bumps that the leafs just suck at handling?

Once Toyota gives me a verdict on my rear end (lol) I have the ALL 3 progressive to install then Id probably do this at the same time.

    That makes sense thanks guys!

Anyone have an idea of the best place to buy one of these kits at?

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
oh yeah. My favorite part of having them. I keeep mine at 20 and it feels more like a car or a bigger truck with a soft ride. It feels floaty. 30 psi is harsh. 20 is my preferred. Got my set for $284 on autoanything with a 20% off coupon. I recommend it.

Installedmy air bags yesterday. Still tinkering with the PSI but so far 20# seems to be just about right.
Hard to explain but the ride seems firmer and plush at the same time. And I know that doesn't make any sense!

I finally purchased a set of these air bags for my 2014 TRD Sport. The install was not to bad, but my suggestion is buy new hardware. Maybe it's just me but after trying to tighten down the long bolts & nuts that hold the airbag on the leaf spring I said screw it about 1/4 the way into it. Went and bought new hardware and it installed in probably around 2 hours.
I haven't really played with air pressure and the ride yet, but I put around 10 psi in them last night and the ride was much better compared to stock, but it did seem to have some extra bounce going over speed bumps.
As far as ride height goes I have not measured, but I have 5100's up front set at 0.85 and I can definitely tell the airbags raised the back enough to tell a difference but it isn't to noticeable when you look at the truck from a distance.

All and all I'm happy so far (for the 24 hours they have been installed) I'm excited to see how much of an improvement I have once I put a load in the bed or a trailer behind it.

I just measured mine at different PSI.

    My results:

All readings were taken starting at 0 and adding 5 psi until reaching 30 psi. Measurements were taken at each wheel, each time. There was no noticeable lift or lowering of the front as more pressure was added to the bags. All measurements were taken within a ½ hour and there was no noticeable changes in the ambient air temps.

    0 psi = no lift
5 psi = negligible or no lift
    10 psi = ¼"
    15psi = ½"
    20 psi = ¾"
    25 psi = 1"

You can see the pattern. 5 psi seems to inflate the bag and every 5 psi after gives approx. ¼" of lift.

If I remember, I actually get my notes out and copy them to here for exact numbers.

I did some measurements also. All my reading are measured from the bottom lip of my rim. It seemed more accurate that guessing where the center of my hub was.

Iv been running 5 psi on passenger and 10 psi on driver. That keeps it deal level at all corners. I'm exactly 30 3/4 inches from rim lip to top of fender on all four sides.

When I get my camper I'm sure I'll have to adjust. But just pulling my lawn mower I have no sag .

Measurements were taken from the ground to the fender flare. Tire PSI is listed at top. I don't like measuring from the center of the hub due to trying to eyeball the center. I find my measurements are more consistent using the ground. I'm fully aware that tire pressure affects this and why I noted it in my notes. ;)

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
I have been running the air bags and cradles for a little over a month now and wanted to post some feedback. The air bags are great but I didnt like how they worked with daystar cradles and my suspension setup. Every time I would hit a decent bump, both on/off the road it would launch my rear up and then make a loud "clack" when I came down. This was only with 5 psi in each side.

I removed the cradles and now the truck is more controled when hitting bumps. Also the clacking noise from plate slap has gone away. I think I just dont have enough suspension lift for the cradles to work on my truck. When the cradles were on I was squeezing the bags just from the natural stance of the truck. This was causing preload on the air bag and giving me the "bouncy house" effect.

With cradles removed I have about 1/16" between the air bag plate and the lower mount that goes on the leaf springs (unloaded). The cradle thickness is 3/4" so it was interfering with my up travel.

The cradles will be hitting the For Sale section soon.
