You won't find a Pelican for the 680 if you plan to put a gimbal and camera on it. I used a strap when I folded it up around my back like a satchel, but folded it enough times to where the plastic broke and one arm flailed around so I sold the bird. It's kind of an odd sized copter.

Yeah I have plenty of spare arm clamps for that very reason. I already found a pelican that will fit it with the gimbal and camera but no props.
I was thinking about doing the strap but have the gps mast up top with the fc and rx and don't want to damage those...
Problem with the case i found is its fucking HUUUGEEE
Something like this might be an option but it weighs almost 25 lbs alone... so that's not a very good option to carry on the back.

So I'm actually thinking about selling my phantom 2 and upgrading to the phantom 3. There's a lot more technology in them and i figure by the time I buy a gimbal and maybe eventually an FPV I'll be into this one about as much as a 3 would cost, and id have less technology. Wish I knew about the 3 before I bought mine. Would have waited lol. Good/bad idea?

What's cool too is we found an actual quad copter store near here. It's a nice place and I guess they're going to start having free training classes and fun flying days.

Go for it, I think I want a P3 ... the feedback and reviews are good on RCG and it can record in 4K. The footage on YouTube is pretty badass too so I don't think you can go wrong.

Another plus, 25 min flight times.

Gimbal recommendations for a gopro 3+? Have tried Feiyu Tech G3, it's been a little buggy so i was considering switching to something else...

Tarot 2D works perfect IMO and is pretty cheap. If you have a capable radio you can also control the tilt.

I haven't been able to fly or build anything lately, recently had our first kid and that has consumed all my time up until now. I might finally be able to finish building my Tarot 690!

if one wanted to pilot their multirotor from within a vehicle, what would one need to do?
i assume that being inside a big steel box will interfere with signal... is the best way to go a remote patch antenna for the fpv outside the vehicle and hope the tx is powerful enough?
