Thanks, Tskeens - we are gathering prices as a guide, so I just wanted to double check so we don't overpay at the dealer - negotiating is my least favorite past of the process. Have fun with that great new ride!

2015 Black TRD Off Road Double Cab 4x4, MSRP: $33,895. I paid $32,198.

I am satisfied with the deal as it went very smoothly and they gave me a ridiculous amount for my trade (which happened to have a failing head gasket that I didn't mention -- so..... I'm good).

Negotiations are the best part! I like to be fully prepared and have multiple quotes from multiple dealers. That is pretty easy in the DC area with so many dealers within a 100 mile radius. The key is to be prepared to walk out and tell them that you just started shopping and need to shop around. Sure they will be pushy and try to convince you that their deal is very reasonable and competitive. I started at the dealership closest to my home to see what they would give me for my trade and then went to two other local dealers, only to get the same $26k offer for the trade. After that, I did the rest online. USAA car buying service gave me some of the lowest quotes and provided certificates to print without going to the dealer. Many others stealers posted their internet pricing which usually excludes freight. I then emailed my best offer to my local salesman who then took it to his sale manager for approval. It may not work for everyone in every area but it worked out for me. I had the same offer available at the next closest dealer but didn't like the color of the truck they had.

2015 DCSB. Entune plus, towing package, off road. 30,700 plus tax tags title. I think I did ok. I got the second level manager to just about curse me out the door! I feel a bit jipped being told 2015 didn't come in a DCLB. Wish I did my homework a bit more. Not a big fan of the SB. Guess I'll get a trailer down the road.

Yeah I didn't see your response until after I posted mine. :frusty:

It looks like my process of getting into a tacoma has started. I'm trying to wait until the 2016's roll out to scoop up a leftover 2015 though. $33,000 seems the lowest for a TRD Off Road here in Texas

I wouldn't wait too long. Seems like you aren't the only one with this idea. There isn't a ton of love for the redesign and the 2015's are selling as soon as they hit the lot......at least around here. Especially the Double Cabs. :D

As others have suggested, a high number of Toyota dealers in a 100 mile radius make it much easier to negotiate. As it turned out, though, my first quote (via the Costco auto buying program) was the best. Picked up the only Pyrite Mica DCSB TRD Sport in the county (maybe all of So Cal?) for $600 under invoice. No crazy doc fees but I did have to pay for a couple extras added PPO like floor mats since I bought inventory rather than ordering.

I also got three appraisals on my trade to ensure I was maximizing both sides of the transaction.

Traded in a 2006 Jeep Cherokee that was a bad buy after I bought it last year. I was upside down on it but the dealer gave me a little more for it even with some small problems on it. Got $1,000 dollar military discount. Put a thousand down. Final after everything.....around 29,500. The trade in really hurt me but they gave me the payments I was looking for and I got rid of a Jeep that I didn't feel confident in.

Black '15 DCLB SR5 with Entune Plus, floor matts, and the all important chrome exhaust tip for $29,545 + tax & registration.
I wanted the premium Entune and AC inverter, but my wallet said (and my wife concurred) to be happy with my shiny new truck.
    And I am.
Friday, I'll spend a good part of the day dropping off two motorcycles and picking up a third – just what I bought the truck for.

Same thing happened to me! I was messaging back and forth with a salesman that I have worked with several times in the past. He was adamant that his pricing was very competitive and he assured me that he has pulled some strings to get the lowest price available. That was until I beat it by $1000 and he offered to match it. Of course I was already on my way to the winning dealer for my white truck and the "Johnny come lately" salesman only had one in black.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
More than I want to think about. . But I got the one I wanted so its all good!

    I feel your pain...

After kicking myself in the ass since 2012 for not getting what I wanted because I got a better deal on something else... I decided to get what I wanted and couldn't be happier. . Even if I probably need to sell a testicle.

To be realistic on the price. I ended up deciding on 1794 tundra (found for 43) or the PRO tacoma. The manual transmission won me over again :) and the color.
