whoever painted their fairlead (pages back, don't feel like looking through them) how is it looking/holding up so far?

 

I painted mine and have used my winch several times and it's still looking great

I'm hoping to get the bumper clear coated this weekend. It's been a crazy week between my daughters 2nd birthday and residing my house after work and the weather. The bumper hasn't got touched. Once it's on I will post. Sorry for the delay

 

No. It has not held up. I am going to take the fairlead off and use the same precedure To paint it that I used with the bumper. Which is wire wheel, self etching primer, then paint.

here's how mine is mounted, its in one of the places the winch provides. I had to remove the center metal piece that runs across both headlights because that was blocking the solenoid from mounting. I just cut a hole in my grille since I really didnt want to relocate the solenoid right now. works really and I have no issues with how it works

 

I'll show you what I did. I just jerry rigged the mount and tipped it forward. Not really happy with it but whatever it works. Thanks for the pics guys!

Look 3 pics down from post #92 and you can see I mounted mine on top of my fuse box, high and dry out of the elements.

 

The color combo is pretty trippy on my eyes

 

Thats awesome but the price for wiring is insane! I also don't understand how you use it? In-cab controls?

Yeah wiring was pricey but I also order a bit too much length wise as I didn't know where I wanted to put the solenoid. and honestly could have ordered 0 or 0/1 guage instead of 0/2.
I can control it by popping my hood and hooking up to it or also I have the wireless controller so I can do it wirelessly. I have thought about a in cab control but I don't really need one.

 

Haha yellow is actually my most fav color so you are good.

 

I'm the orange lover... Haha. Wish I could repaint my truck orange with flat black accents
