New gif of the Pluto-Charon system by New Horizons clearly showing it's a binary system as both rotate around a common point just outside of Pluto.

And found this cool site, current active status of the Deep Space Network. I saw one of the dishes receiving data from Voyager 1 last night!

Very cool, hadn't been on that site before. Would be even better if they added more info, but I spose it would get pretty bandwidth intensive for them to put up data transmissions.

I think there's more to it. Unfortunately the Federal Gov is still trying to catch up from the economic crisis. There are cuts in all forms of government so I'm not surprised. After seeing some cuts, $300-$500 mil is a drop in the hat for some agencies and departments. Making an assumption that religion is at the heart of the cuts without more facts is shortsighted.

It is easy to see why the political/race/religion comments end up calling out the ban hammer.
Lacks of facts, high on opinion, and seriously misinformed. Any discussion with opposing views will only end badly.
There is obviously more to it, and everything involving the US government is political.
I would think that the research will continue to be carried out, just not by NASA, especially when NASA e-mails can be trotted out for review.

    I don't completely disagree

Perhaps we could ask the Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee that has jurisdiction over the allegedly non-existent climate problem.

The " new study " from 2013 you linked has been repeatedly debunked as inaccurate

With respect to your two articles alluding to the " Global Warming Hiatus " , there is substantial evidence that there was in fact no hiatus , merely a slowing of the rate of warming , not a stopping of warming .

As far as NASA coming before Congress , I assume you mean this ?

    http://dailycaller.com/2015/02/20/republicans-to-investigate-climate-data-tampering-by-nasa/

Interestingly sponsored by the aformentioned Senator Inhofe , the guy I linked above for saying that snowballs in Washington prove there is no global warming and that the Bible states in Genesis 8:22 that there will always be summer and winter and therefore global warming is a hoax

Having said all that , I'm not going to continue with this topic because it gets threads locked and it's like arguing evolution with creationists
