Before the UFC was a household brand, this fight would not be bashed the way it is now. People expected swollen and bloody faces and for it to turn into a brawl. This ring only has 4 sides and ropes. This was boxing in its purest form. Mayweather playing defensive was his only option. He knew he didn't have the power to out-fight Pacquiao, so he won it by being the better boxer, landing more punches, and controlling the pace.

Agreed. Mayweather fought the way I expected him to fight, but manny on the other hand did not. He did not fight like he did margarito, cotto, Bradley, hatton, etc. No angles or pacman jabs. His attacks were all in a straight line or chasing. I do believe the Marquez knockout was haunting him. He knew MW is counter puncher and didn't have a solid plan around it.

Surprised by the fact than none noticed the "price" we all had to pay to see a fight. Getting that much money to a single individual for a boxing match is ridiculous.
How about these 15 rounds fights of long gone when they fought, and not run away like this winner. The predictions a lot of people agreed is that Floyd will die homeless and penniless with his judgment and attitude.

Thankfully I didn't watch it cause I'm bored just hearing about how it went. Thank god for the UFC cause even the womens fights are more exciting than boxing will ever be.

    Some really cool shit
If Pac is from Phillipines, and Mayweather is U.S. why did they play the National Anthem of Mexico? Or did they? I heard on the radio it was played? Also, during the Warriors Grizzlies game Mark Jackson tried to say Mayweather is one of the best fighters ever. Top 10 or something like that. Anyone have a take on this?

If you ask Mayweather he will tell you he isnt only top 10 but #1 all time. He recently claimed he was better than Ali.
Personally I find it very hard to determine who is the best since boxing styles have changed throughout the years, different weight classes box completely different and training/nutrition is much better today than years past.

Im not 100% sure why the mexican anthem was played but i think its due to the fact that one of the main sponsor of the event was TECATE and that PACMAN had a rather large mexican support -- also i believe some mexican providers had the fight for free

Thought it was possibly going to be a good fight! Also had the thought of there being a 2nd or 3rd fight.Simply said BORING!I didn't spend the $100 to pay for the fight but my friend did and before we watched the fight he said i already know this was a waste of $100!

Just like the UFC the judges for the fight had little to no background of how boxing works. I forget where I read it or saw it but the judges were explained the rules of boxing prior to the fight. Even pac said in a post fight interview that he thought he had the fight in the bag which is why he didn't do as well at the end as he was in the beginning (maybe his should was hurting as stated?) but still the fight was rigged and gayweather paid someone to give him decision despite the outcome.

EDIT: read this speculation article.... not too sure how credible the website is but it is interesting!
