I also have a 2" lift and was thinking about ordering some of these wheels with 275/65/18s when I have to replace my current tires, can you let me know how this setup works out for you and what, if any, trimming you need to do? Thanks!

I'm running 275/65/18 duratracs. Toytec coilovers set at how they came out of the box. I was getting some minor rubbing on the rear part of front fender wheel on sharp turns and inclines. Took the truck on the sand and rubbing was pretty bad.

Used an air saw yesterday and did a little trimming. No issues any more. Should have did it from the start. Took less than 10 minutes. Spent more time jacking up the truck, removing and reinstalling wheels/tires.

How's the ride with the Toltec coilers. I want something that is smoother than stock, but better dampening. I used to have 5100 set at .85 on an old DC taco I had and it rode nice. I wonder if the ride will be comparable.

Btw didn't mean to thread jack on the last statement, but Ill get it back on track. Do those 285/65/18 tires you have ever rub, I want to lift the front only about 1 inch and don't want to have to do much more than remove my mud flaps.

    Hey guys,

I picked up my BFD wheels from Dustin earlier this week and just got them mounted. They look so good on my truck. As soon as they were mounted, the guys at the car shop all came out and told me how sick the wheels looked haha

Just want to give a shout out to Dustin. He is extremely personable and super easy to work with. He was really accommodating of my busy schedule in terms of setting up a pick up time, so thank you for everything.

My current setup is: Bilstein 5100 set at 0.85 with Toytec springs (1.6") for a total of 2.45 inches of front lift but it has settled to about roughly 2 inches or so. The rear, I have Deaver AAL that I got from Toytec which is rated to give 2 inches of lift. After mounting the 265/75/18 Duratrac tires, the only rubbing that I had was on the driver side. No issues on the passenger. So I just went underneath and took off the front nub from the fender liner.

Sorry for my late replies everyone! We've been super swamped as usually, but definitely call/text me on my cell if you ever need to ask me a question and get an immediate reply: (714)390-9387.

Shop (FN Wheels) phone always gets answered or all phone messages are returned right away too: (951)735-1100.

We're getting closer to having someone trained by me to answer forum messages when I get behind too, but for now it's still me. :)

No problem! Sorry for my late reply!

For the Tacoma (and all other 6-lug Toyotas) we offer one fitment: 18x9" with 0mm offset (5" backspacing).

If you have a late model 5x150 bolt pattern Tundra, Sequoia or Landcruiser we offer a +12mm offset.

18x9" / 0mm offset fits great on all 6-lug Toyota trucks, especially all Tacomas (first and second generation).

Please send me a PM, and I will get an extra one out to you. :)

Thanks for posting your kind words and your experience below. As discussed, there is plenty of clearance / no contact with the upper control arms with the 18x9" / 0mm offset / 5" backspacing BFDs and 275/65R18 tires (or even 285/65R18 tires for that matter). :)

Love it! Looks great. You are very welcome and thank you again too.

Looks sick Rylan! Glad you made it back home to enjoy the wheels! :)

Good choice of lift size and wheel/tire size. You can expect very minor / minimal rubbing on the front mud flaps, and if you have a 2005-2011 Tacoma you will have minor rubbing on the bottom of the front fender liner (requiring trimming and removing the small nub that sticks straight down from the bottom of the fender liner). On 2012+ Tacomas there is no nub, so you simply remove the two 10mm bolts holding on the aero-flap.

    Nice coating! :)

The Toytec coilover setup is very similar to the ride you had with Bilstein 5100s set at .85". Toytec uses Bilstein shocks to build some of their coilover kits.

285/65R18 tires will require a bit more than 1" front lift. If you only plan to lift the front 1" I'd recommend no larger than 275/65R18 tires. Generally we like to lift the front at least 2.25" in order to fit 285/65R18 tires.

    Lookin' good!

Thanks again! It was a real pleasure meeting you and talking with you. I appreciate your patience very much in waiting for our wheels to come in off backorder, and I am glad that you are happy / that it was worth the wait!

Thanks for posting your experience and photos too!

    Reply sent! Thank you!

    :)

Yes we do! Please give me a call if you have any questions or if you'd like to order a set: (951)735-1100 (or call/text me on my cell: (714)390-9387).

Speedway Blue seems to be a rare color. We just can't seem to find any photos from our customers. I'd personally go with graphite gunmetal (first choice) or matte bronze (second choice). Maybe you can be the first one to post photos of the wheels on your Speedway Blue truck. :)

The gunmetal is nice, but like black....way to popular for my taste and those colors get lost/blend into the tire to me. Everything else I have added to the truck is polished stainless or chrome, but I am afraid the titanium just won't fit since it isn't reflective. I'm thinking bronze for some contrast? As soon as my current wheel/tire package sells, I think that will be the plan.

    Hi BC,

No problem! Matte bronze looks great with Speedway Blue, but I was afraid with your chrome and polished trim it might be too many colors going on. If it worked out to be too many colors competing would you be open to color matching or blacking out some of your polished / chrome trim? It might look really good!

We can also always do a custom Super Metallized Coating finish for you (here are some examples):
