The bushings failed on my control arms after two years, so I replaced them with the revised bushings from SPC. What I didn't realize is that if you call SPC and tell them you've had a failure they will send you a new set of arms for a core charge of $200. Then when they receive your old arms back they will refund you the core charge!

    If I had only known.

Users Chadderkdawg and Madtoy have both gone through this procedure.

Pretty outstanding customer service if you ask me. I'll let the two that have done this chime in if you have any questions.

So far i just started the process, will update after install. I just called and said there was a ton of play in the bushings after maybe 20k miles. They said they would send brand new units for a 200 dollar core charge. Ill update when i receive them.

I did this over 2 years ago with mine, and the updated units are much better...no issues so far.

Here's an update for everyone. Both of my ball joints are now bad on my control arms. There is visible movement and clicking noises coming from them. I called SPC and provided them with the following information:

    - Original purchase receipt
    - 3 digit lot number (found on the side of the ball joint)
    - Approximate mileage on the arms
    - Make/model/year of the truck

With that information they were able to warranty the ball joints. I will have a new set of ball joints by either Friday or Monday. That's some great customer service!

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I had a similar experience after finding my pass.side bushing was shot (original, not SpecRide bushings). Called SPC and was asked to send them an email with my info., also expressed concern about the Ball Joints since they are likely not far behind.

Received an email with a tracking number and these showed up today:

New SpecRide bushings for both sides and (2) new ball joints. Fantastic customer service from SPC!!!

I will continue to run these as long as I can, and recommend them to everyone who needs (non-uniball) UCAs

I noticed it when I was doing the brakes a few weeks back. With the wheel off the ground and the vehicle supported, I could grab the wheel and visibly see the UCA & Bushing move side-to-side. Keep in mind, mine were the Original (old-style) bushings before SPC switched to the poly bushings.

very nice to know! I just wished that they would redesign the arm to have some added support where the bolt goes through the UCA. Similar to the Camburg and TC UCA, where there is an added piece of metal welded on.

The same shit everyone else has.
I bought a set of used control arms that need new ball joints. I wonder if they'll warranty them since I do not have a receipt?

Can someone provide me with the number to call. I bought mine over two years ago from metal tech and one of my control arm broke off at the weld. I need to replace this right away since it's my only vehicle and don't want to chance it with my son in it. Thank you.

That's the contact info for their customer service guy. Or use their website here, I just emailed them 10 minutes ago about a bad upper ball joint and got a reply in minutes.
