Personal preference. More control over axle wrap and axle movement. Friend of mine runs a link setup in his Ford and that thing is a lot of fun to drive. Yeah I know they take more time and money to put it in but who cares. Im not building this just to crawl over a couple rocks or up a steep hill. That and its different, hardly anyone is running this on their Toyotas.

I am looking at buying some tires and can't decide between sticking with 33x12.5s or going to 33x10.5s. Anyone reason to stick with the wider tire? I think that my 4 cylinders of fury would probably be happier with the narrower tire. For handling and control I'm not sure what would be better. My regular cab truck weighs nothing if that's a factor.

 

I have 33x10.5's now and MPG is fantastic, but sidewall roll when aired down in the dirt is stupid ridiculous. You turn the wheel and 2 seconds later the car will turn. Takes some getting use to. A wider tire wouldn't have that problem to nearly the same extent.

 

When I ran 1050's it was great. Floated over everything. Went to 35 1250 for now but will be running 37s eventually. You can get away with it no problem.

 

4.88s and ARBs front and rear are on the way.

The taco is going to be getting some more get up and go and whole lot more traction.

 

You have an auto? What size tires?

I'm 4.88's on 35's and my truck basically shotguns gas haha. Maybe 300km to 70 liters. That's close to 12 mpg

 

better then my 6-12 lol

"practical" went out the window a long time ago. Thank God for all those hybrids, I'm going to need their gas.

 

Ehh. Soon I'll be on 37's and probably around 8 or 9 haha. good thing my commute is only 3km each way

 

I'm gonna stick with 4.56 with 35's and a Supercharger
