    Had to pull my 3rd member today to fix a broken stud and big leak from a rock hit I took yesterday on the Mojave trail. Thanks to @MonkeyProof for his step by step thread, it helped out in a few spots!

    I used to recommend the Trail-Gear stud replacement kit to replace broken studs. Their kit sucks ass and I no longer recommend that kit. I now recommend to use Toyota OEM studs.

    I just grabbed a stud from Vatozone. But what I did was I took one of the OEM stud from the top and put that in the bottom hole and put the cheapo vatozone stud on the top. Just wanted to make sure the stronger stud was on the bottom for a little no leak insurance.

    That's fine, I'm sure that the VatoZone stud is made of harder material than the mild steel studs that make up Trail-Gear studs. The Trail-Gear studs will stretch after a few runs, and trying to keep the proper torque because of that is impossible. Also makes a permanent leak.
