While undoing the sway bar bolts, one of the internal nuts broke lose from the welds. Ended up having to cut it off as the bolt/nut just spun and spun.

So, wanting to keep my sway bar, I see my options as:

    a) tighten up the front bolt and weld the rear to the frame.
    b) enlarge the round hole right above where the broken nut is and replace the nut/ tighten though the hole.

    What do you guys think?

For anyone interested I have fixed a few of these broken loose nuts.

I first drill out the holes to be able to fit a weld nut of M8x1.25 then make a small plate of 1/8" or 3/16" what ever I have handy.

After welding the weld nut to the plate the plate is welded to the frame. Nuts being up into the frame. I always use new bolts.

It works good for another 20 years .

I always never seize the bolts.
