So... You don't need those pesky factory clips to install then? This gets rid of them? I'm missing my left clip

It eliminates all the clips on top of the tailgate.

Installed mine last night... WOW. Thing is SOLID and looks really sharp! Opening the tailgate feels so much better now too.

Like someone else posted, make sure you put the lower padding as high as possible, almost right next to the other one.

Just ordered one since my nephew kicked a 3 inch chunk out of mine getting in the bed of the truck. Can't wait to get it fixed.

What is the height of this (top to bottom) when installed? There is a tiny dent with a little rust near the top of my tailgate that I hope to cover with this cap. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this!

Damn, $25 bucks to ship to NM. I usually luck out since 90% of the vendors on here are out west.

Not sure if i missed this some how. You have any tailgate skins that cover the inside of the tailgate. Also if I get the whole setup side rails and tailgate lip would it effect my hardtop tonneau cover at all?

My cap only covers the top. I find that "skins" that cover the whole gate don't add any real strength.

Your cover should fit better with my side rail caps and tailgate cap.

Do you not include the torx bit anymore? Mine arrived today and it contained the cap, gasket material, and a sticker. But no bit.

Ok. There was one piece stuck in there so I will see about getting it out.

Edit. Got the other wad of bubble wrap out after destroying the box and there it was! Never should have doubted it! Doing the install as I type!

Done already! Beyond simple install. And super clean appearance when finished. I think I like it even more than I was expecting. Huge thumbs up Chad!
