Yup. A lot of people that owned first gens didn't like the second gens, and look at the sales. I actually like the new Taco a lot. I just bought my 2014 but I'll be buying a 3rd gen as soon as they're on the market, even though my future wife told me I'm not allowed. Lucky for me wedding we be done and over with a month before dealerships get the 3rd gens!

I would bet they are an accessory you have to pay extra for now.

You not allowed to replace until you hit 500,000 miles. :p

I don’t have as many miles as you, but considering a 2016 after more drivetrain info.

You're probably right. It'll be something dealerships in the required states will order them with them then pass the cost to the consumer.

I was annoyed as shit when I had to pay $100 for rubber mats when they kept my carpet ones. My fault though, I should have done the research and just bought the rubber ones then sold the carpet ones.

Bring back solid front axles for the 2016 and beyond for tacomas...at least for TRD models. Is Jeep the only Make that still builds with solid axles? Tacomas would sell like hot cakes if they did.

So I've looked at a lot of photos of the '16. And I agree with a lot of the chatter about a bloated/bigger front end. Some obvious changes. But I've also noticed that with distance from the camera lens it looks a little better. Not quite so bloated. I'm not saying it's good or bad. It'll just be fun seeing the actual thing, as there's definitely some lens distortion goin on in some of those photos. Actually, quite a bit of barrel distortion in some of the closer up front end photos.

I really wish they'd go back to 20-30-40-50-60 on the speedo instead of 20-40-60!

At least its only on the limited models with the "altezza style" tail lights which I admit is gawdy.

Maybe with this new Guage cluster and high speed digital display, toyota will offer digital readout options such as: instant/avg mpg, speed, distance to empty, etc.

More I look, the more I like.

Will wait till I can see one at the dealer. I imagine a late 2016 or early 2017 for purchase.

I saw pics somewhere of the gauge cluster and just the off road package (with crawl control) had the cluster as shown on the Toyota website. The "lesser" models had a overhead
Those numbers would be really nice to include. Im afraid of what might fill that space for those without the higher level option packages. I don't like it when they just throw something in there for the sake of filling space- like a picture of a truck with a door open to let you know that a door is open. I saw a picture of just that- I'm hoping it's one of several images on an lcd screen and not a constant image of doors on the truck that may or may not be open. seriously, 20% of the gauge cluster doesn't need that.

I don't know how that double quote got in there and deleted some of my text. That post should have read as follows:

Those numbers you mention would be really nice to include. I saw some pics of the gauge cluster on a website somewhere else, and only the off road package (with crawl control) had the cluster as currently shown on the Toyota website. I'm afraid of what might fill that space for those trucks without the higher level option packages. The "lesser" model in the photos I saw had a overhead view of the truck with 4 doors on it, displaying which doors are open. And it wasn't small. I don't like it when they just throw something in there for the sake of filling space in base models- like a picture of a truck with a door open to let you know that a door is open. I'm hoping that's just one of several images on an lcd screen (in addition to the numbers you mentioned) and not a permanent image of doors on the truck that may or may not be open. seriously, 20% of the gauge cluster doesn't need to be devoted to that. I think there might be a little red open door icon on my 2014 (I know some vehicles have that- can't remember if my taco does). No reason that needs to be 10x that size and taking up the middle third of the instrument panel. I have a hard time believing they'd do that, but they've done worse (eliminating the auto dim mirror with temp, for example). While I'm at it, is dual climate control really necessary in a Tacoma? Gone will be the days of controlling temp without looking down and having to think about it. Ok, rant finished :)
