This threads seems to be pretty dead, but is @Cbass38 still doing painting? I have some small parts on the new truck that I'd like to get sprayed.

Want to give a shout out to Sebastian (CBASS) for a great job on painting my grill. Dropped it off to him a while ago to have it painted (after I failed miserably trying to do it myself), due to my travels and such it took me a while to pick it up from him (Thanks for storing it!). Finish looks great on it, can't wait to finish my grill! Thanks again!

As soon as I can get some time to break into my vault, I may have a couple of firearms for you to hydro dip for me. I got a couple of hunting rifles and shotguns I want camo'd.

Can I ask paint questions also..? :spy:

I've got a few fairly heavy gauge stainless steel panels that I want to practice on, trying to shoot flake and lace work (think low rider/custom car roofs).

    Have you shot either?

FWIW, I'm not in the position to buy a legit flake gun so I'd be using a regular HVLP with 1.8/1.5 tips for color (flaked) and clear (flaked). Have seen results with this setup on a dash and they looked great with the appropriate size flake.

Or.. if you have a reasonably priced flake gun you can recommend, I'd take that advice also. :D

I don't do much flake so I have no need for that type of gun.I honestly don't know alot about em as I don't paint many bass boats lol . I stick to candies and pearls

As for lace I take some of my lingeri"don't judge me" lay it on the surface and paint over it and use it as a stencil but that the extent of my experience in that area

Lace seems pretty straight forward.. I think the hardest part will be finding lace that looks good, haha.. maybe color sanding. I assume the lace work is generally lighter coats?

You know of any books worth reading on different paint techniques? Candy and pearls are on the list as well.

Can anyone recommend a place in Tucson where I could get some trim pieces painted to match my Tacoma body color? OP seems like a good option for those in PHX but what about Tucson? Thanks
