Send your neighbor down. I will give him my old frame as a payment, he will be so rich. BTW what is the going rate/lb of iron oxide? ;)

It's a sad day for my truck. I think I blew a head gasket or cracked the block. There goes any wheeling plans I had this year.

Hello everyone. New member here. I recently purchased a 2015 Magnetic Gray double cab short box. Joined the forum this morning and saw this here Iowa thread. Figured I would chime in and say hello since I'm also from Iowa, though I wish I was in Colorado...

Does that mean your truck hates Minnesota more than Iowa?

    Sorry! I had to...

    Any updates to share?

I guess it does now. It overheats, has very little power, and has a weird surge over 2000 rpm. I'm knee deep in remodeling my house and don't have time to mess with it. I parked behind my garage for the year.

Then I bought a new to me truck today.

Even though I hate white, I practically stole it so I will drive this for a while.

It's real nice! It's the Denali so it has pretty much everything a truck can. Navigation, sunroof, wood grain and leather interior. It has a corvette based engine with 400hp too. The only thing I missed out on is air conditioned seats. I'm riding the train to the dealer to pick it up right now.

Psh you live in MN air conditioned seats aren't needed, just heated.

Actually I think I would like the a/c seats. When I sit in seats for a long time my back usually gets sweaty. Leather helps a lot but a cooler seat would be sweet. The wet okole seat covers were terrible for me. 30 minutes and sweat would be dripping down my back.

White isn't so bad, exposed white letter tires or white outline tires are though. :) Is there a hitch on the back of that thing?

I got to thinking and it is WAY to early in the year to throw in the towel for a year of wheeling. You should investigate what the actual problem is with your truck and fix it even if it is a junkyard motor and sell that slimy can of worms sitting on top of your engine! haha

Hell yes, this thing can pull a house. It has a nice digital brake controller and all.

Time will be the main issue. I won't get much done this summer between housework, work, and going to the lake on weekends. But I can't go back to a regular old 5vz. 180hp is weak.

Nice Denali man, I dig that truck. Those are coming way down in cost with the new ones being out, good value to be had there.

Thanks. I got a real nice deal on it. I could trade it in at wholesale tomorrow and still make money. Northern Minnesota sure did a number on the underside rocker panels so I'm going to por-15 them right away. Otherwise it's good to go until I get bored with it and want a diesel. It's awd so when the 415 ft-lbs kicks in, it really throws you back in the seat.

The diesel boys would think that is cute. haha

180hp is a lot more than your 5vz is currently making! :) Hp isn't everything. Kurt has proven that.

So I need to decide what to do with my truck. To be honest I doubt I will ever get around to an engine swap. And if I pull the supercharger and all the other stuff off, I would need a bunch of parts to make it run again. So that pretty much leaves me to selling it as-is or parting it out. I don't really want to waste the time parting it out, but it would bring better money that way. I don't know what to do.

I would see how much it would cost to have someone else do it once you find a donor 5vz . Just to atleast get it running . I personally believe you have way to much in to get 1/2 of it back out. Plus a broken Toyota will only last 2 weeks on cl where a running one will be gone in 2 days . In case you ever sell it lol
