are you just starting out? Are you going to do this just to your vehicle and maybe some family vehicles?

For beginners and for budgetary reasons i would recommend the Porter Cable 7424. Its fool proof for someone whose a beginner and can still do what you need.

I have a Flex 3401 and a PC 7424. But i do a little higher volume and justify the cost of one, i use it every weekend. I started with the PC and it did 4 years of tough work and handled everything great.

I still like Lake Country pads (5.5" or 3" for tight areas). The megs mf pads are pretty nice too and work well with their compounds/polishes.
I think you'll find that most of the polishes are going to be personal preference.

im not being rude, nor trying to be. But if you're literally just starting out i wouldnt even THINK about touching other peoples cars. Especially because you sound 100% new to this. Theres a long learning curve, especially if you're doing other peoples vehicles.
