Nice to see a build thread started! Why isn't the light bar staying?

the output is shit. my headlights (though bright as all hell with the retro fit) completely outshine it. also, there's moisture that's leaked into it, so I'm claiming warrenty on it, and they're going to swap it out for a 20" dual row for me. that is if the rep ever returns my e-mail lol.

also I don't like that it blocks my "TOYOTA" looks like an after thought (which it was) lol

I'm picking up some 4" hid lights from a local member, so those may go there... not sure yet... we'll see what the new bumper looks like

Ah. I know what it's like having your headlights wash out your light bar.. I did the two dual row 20" bars behind my grill first and looooved them, then I put some high power LED bulbs in the headlights. I only switched the headlight bulbs for the colour tbh, but they are so much brighter that the 20's barely make a difference anymore. The 50 on the roof though.. now that thing is bright!

Yeah I think I'm going to sell the 20 when I get it if it's not bright enough (really just want it to throw down the trail further than my brights) I will probably do a 40 radius up top eventually though...

currently looking at what I want to do for fog lights in my new Apex... I have some "driving" Rigid D2's but the light throw on them is SLOPPY they're on my CBI Dich mounts now... might as well be flood. they do have some SAE compliant ones I may go with... we'll see

Thanks, Honestly the 98-00 are my least favorite, but the look and uniqueness is growing on me. If I could change the color I'd be much happier... Love yours in Silver... jut not enough contrast with the dark green for me.

but I've got a bit coming this week... All-Pro bumper/skids, custom sliders, and going mount some tie down tracks in the bed.

I'm torn between 98-00 and 01-04. I may do a swap later down the road but there's bigger mods to fry :spy:

Thanks! I don't mind the green, put some bronze rims on it and it looks better. Very nice! I like the All-Pro stuff just super expensive. I've got 4x sliders waiting to be welded on

I took advantage of their free shipping deal over my birthday weekend and saved close to $500. Wished I'd had it powder coated but couldn't wait for it. so I've just painted it and I'll powder coat it at a later time if it's an issue.
01-04 is the best IMO... and yeah I've thought about that swap.

Damn that's a lot! Usually rattle can does the job.

The swap doesn't seem hard just needing parts. If I could find a cheap hood that matches my color, I'd do it in a heart beat. Selling my grille and retro would cover the rest easily

I wouldn't bother too hard finding a matching hood... a black hood would look good on silver. and cut down on the glare. $.02 I'm never giving up my retrofit, best $ I've spent on the truck so far... LOVE them, just need to fix them now, damn passenger has fogged a little (not enough to effect light output, but makes it look like shit) and my Halo's are burnt out, so I've gotta replace those. Think I'm going to just order some new housings, take my time with the prep (I rushed it last time as I didn't have any choice to get them done in a day) I'm toying with leaving the chrome for contrast...

I would only sell them if I were to swap because they won't fit. I would then redo them for the 01-04 headlights. But yes one of the best mods I've done. Great output and looks awesome
