All, i just thought i would pass this info along for those who might be in my same situation.

I have a 2006 double cab short bed pre-runner with V6. My muffler was rusting internally and would rattle when cold so i bit the bullet and replaced the entire system from cat back.

I ended up settling on a Flowmaster American thunder dual exit cat back system. It was easy to install and has a great sound, but did have a pretty rough cab drone. After a couple of months of driving, i ended up having all the clamped pipe joints welded due to the clamps constantly coming loose. Of course this didn't take care of the droning in the cab so i started looking for a replacement muffler when i ran across this exhaust insert. I figured, it was much cheaper than a new muffler and would give it a shot. Boy, let me tell you that was the best $50 I've spent on my truck so far! My cab drone is now gone yet i still have the throaty sound that i had before, only it's just in the back !

So if you want to get rid of your cab drone, it's a quick and easy install. It can either be welded in or a couple of stainless steel pop rivets which is the route i did. The hardest part was finding stainless pop rivets.

Do you still like the Car Chemistry insert you added to your exhaust? Does it rattle?

Love em. No rattles at all. I use stainless pop rivets. So far so good!
