What are you using for a monitor? Is the camera an aftermarket flush mount or license plate frame mount? A few questions need to be answered.

I installed one last year and wired it to my reverse lights. Whenever I put my truck in reverse the camera and monitor both turn on. Some people wire their camera to a toggle so they can have it on at all times. Can you post what camera and monitor you have? I can say that after installing my setup, parking in LA has been a hundred times easier.

Thanks for all the help yall! I have it wired to my in dash pioneer system and I just tapped into the reverse light like someone else had said. A surprisingly easy process. I can do a write up if anyone is interested. The hardest part was running the wires through the cab (still not too difficult). It's always daunting cutting wires for me I got lucky and cut the right one! The only problem I'm having now is when the truck goes into reverse I have to manually turn the camera view on from my in dash, it's not automatic. Anyone with suggestions for fixing that??

Well...now it's stuck on the camera mode and will not let me access any menus...so I look at a black screen unless I'm in reverse and the camera is on. Slightly confused

disconnect the power and let it reset (either battery or if you have it pulled out disconnect the harness)

Turns out there's a wire coming from the radio I had to splice in. All is working great now! Thanks for all the help!
