3" toytec lift with 5100's, TC UCA, rear e-locker/front arb air locker
About a year ago I put a 3" toytec suspension lift on my 03 Taco with an AAL in the rear. It worked fine up until about 4 months ago. Now it makes a loud thumping noise on both sides on the front every time I hit a bump, there are also rub Marks on the frame and springs so I've concluded that's what the source is. My first thought was alignment, took it in to do that and the shop only partially did it. The guy said I need to go to another shop and get larger eccentrics for the alignment because of the lift. Will this fix the problem? Any other ideas?

Which lift did you go with from toytec? There are several different ones. Did you adjust the coilovers at all?? Sounds like your UCAs are hitting your coilovers. Might want to look into getting some light racing UCAs or something.. Also might want to get some wheel spacers for the frame rub..

The picture attached is the lift I put on it. Also the tires don't rub, the spring hits the frame rubbing it when I hit any bump in the road. It also hits on the arm that is above the spring (sorry don't know the actual name for it)

The arm above it is the upper control arm aka UCA. There are a few different aftermarket brands that may help with clearance issues regarding that (light racing, all pro, camburg, total chaos) Not really sure why it's rubbing your frame though.. Pictures speak 1000 words.

    I'm assuming you don't have a 5 lug right?

It's a 6 lug, and it's hard to get a picture of where it hits the frame. Where is the best place to buy the UCAs? Thanks for your help

There are several vendors that carry those products, you'll have to do some shopping around if you want the best price. (Light racing, all pro, camburg, total chaos)

Light racing is the cheapest option I'm pretty sure.

I think all pro is having a free shipping sale going on now you could check them out.

One more question. Are you 100% positive that the shocks are on the bottom c clip?

Just take a picture of your shocks/setup I don't need to see where exactly it's hitting the frame.

Not 100% positive, can you tell from the picture?

Hmm they do look kinda high but I'm not sure because I don't have them. Maybe someone who has them could chim in.

Did you install them yourself or a shop? Have they always been super stiff in the front?

Shop installed it, it's been stuff ever since the lift. And also the shop could've screwed it up because I took it to another shop to get work done a week ago and they said that the bolts on the suspension weren't tight

Well they might have put it on the top or middle notch because they thought you wanted it higher, unless of course you told them to put it on the bottom notch. It might be worth it to have a shop remove them and check to see what notch they are on. That seems like the most common problem with these setups from what I've read.

I think it's on the top notch because it's adjustable 0-3" of lift and it's at 3" over stock right now

    It doesn't say adjustable 0-3"..??
It just says 3" lift.. The lowest notch = 3" lift.

I could be wrong, but I recall it saying somewhere it was adjustable

UCA's will fix your alignment issue. As for the noise, I'd check your ball joints. Upper are likely the culprit but lowers could be as well. A lift will wear already worn parts a bit faster. My uppers went within months of installing and they were very bad...
