You can wash them in the washing machine and then let them air dry.Use a mild liquid detergent and no need to use a lot of the detergent. If accidently you do use to much detergent just do a extra rinse.Don't put them in the dryer.Let them air dry.

Toss it in the washer. It may have some 'stains' on it afterward, but it's not embedded dirt that will harm the paint.

You don't dry a chamois, real or artificial. If you do, you have soak it before use. The proper way to care/store it is to wring it out until it's damp, like you were going to dry the vehicle. Then roll it loosely, and place in the plastic tube it came in (artificial) or in a zip lock back (natural).

IE you store it damp, to keep it soft. But airtight, to reduce the risk of mildew or rot. I've got a couple that are over 10 years old and work great. And Florida is the capital of heat, humidity and mildew.

I tried an artificial chamois but the genuine chamois absorbs better.

i wash with tide. double rinse, and every 2nd or 3rd wash i use a cleaner/revitalizer. i used to hang dry but the microfibers used to get a bit stiff so i started throwing them in the dryer on low and that nakes them soft
