Let's See Your Dogs!!

So, not a photo but craziness in the last 10 minutes. The wife and I are sitting in the dark in the backyard around our little chiminea, with the two dogs running around the back yard, when an owl comes swooping up and lands on the 4' fence about 10 yards away in the darkness. Freaks me out for a second. 10 minutes later, I gather the dogs in and one trots in with a vole. The way I figure it, they caught a vole, which was probably squeaking, and caused a big owl to cruise in for a closer look. Crazy.

A day turned to tragedy, we lost our beautiful husky girl today in a freak accident. I tried to save her but wasn't fast enough. I love you Hank, you were a exceptional companion to us and will be forever missed.

He was walking better today. Yesterday he was crying while walking so I took him to the vet. I have to leave him with a friend for a week and a half so I didn't want him to get an infection while I am gone.

It's just terrible, I woke up today hoping it had all been a nightmare but it wasn't. My baby girl is gone, I took her out to be cremated yesterday and her body was stiff and cold. It just amazes me how fast life can be taken and happen when it's least expected. So devastated, I'm sorry Hank for not getting there faster.

She was swimming across the creek and got trapped under a tree fallen across the water. It had been raining for a few days so the water was running pretty good. She was pulled under it and drown, I jumped into the water to try and save her but it was too late. I pulled her from the water and tried to revive her for about 10 minutes but to no avail.

 

Oh man... I hate to hear that. I couldn't imagine going through something like that. She knows you tried.

My wife's been telling me that I've been talking to her and saying her name with lots of laughing in my sleep the past 2 nights so that tells me she's come to visit me and my dreams and make sure everything is okay. Still sucks though, and I miss her something awful. Lost several dogs to old age and natural causes, but never something like this.

My little girl Penny also was lost in a tragic accident 5 years ago ......I miss her every day, I feel your pain

Sorry for you loss Jon, I have had nightmares where my boy Melvin has passed away

 

This is Tazi. Was my 1st dog as an adult. Had to say good bye to her when my GF of 5 years and I split. I used to carry her in my backpack on my bicycle ride to work. She'd rest her head on my shoulder nose to the wind and love it!

 

Here is my 2 year old Rottie named Terra. 95lbs of sweetheart! Best Dog I've ever had!
