10,500 mile update. Just put 2300 miles on the Taco in 1 week driving to Frisco Colorado from Illinois for some annual snowboarding/skiing. First trip out west for the Tacoma. We had awesome snow conditions and an amazing trip. Very happy with the ride and performance in the snow. We got to see some pretty cool Tacoma and 4-Runner set-ups out there. Unfortunately got my first windshield rock chip on my way to the last day at Breck...:( Overall had an amazing time and enjoyed the ~35 hours I got to spend in my truck!!
    IMG_5364.jpg IMG_5371.jpg IMG_5796.jpg

Truck was absolutely filthy when we got home inside and out!

Completed my grill modifications using customcargrills.com with perf ss mesh. I installed hella supertone horns, some led spot lights, and backlighting. I am going to redo my horn mounts to bring them out a tad so they are more visible through the mesh like the lights (lights are now remounted with 5" aluminum angle). Wired the lights to my brights and the backlighting to my parking lights. Any questions let me know! Happy with end result was debating going a different route with the grill but decided to keep it plain for now. I had a halo burn part out so keeping them off until I fix it. Pretty bummed about that although I kinda like it without them anyways:[/ATTACH] image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Thanks for all the info on this site. More mods in the works!

Thanks man. I am going to move the horns out this week so they show through the perf ss mesh more. Might stencil TACOMA on the grill also in body match paint but not sure yet. More updates to come.

Figured I’d post a few sneak peak photos for those interested.... Build has been slow (2+ weeks) due to time and we replaced the lower control arms, strut mount bolts, and seals on the knuckle instead of reusing stock so had to wait for parts. I’m off the rest of the week so should have it 100% done tomorrow if all remaining parts show. I just have always wanted a 6” trucks and for my application it made sense! Can’t wait!

    Made a comparison shot today:

7 miles vs the day I rolled over 65,000 miles. Lot of good times and memories for sure! It’s unbelievable how far it has come:

Had my retrofits begin to be very temperamental around 91,000 miles so went back to stock headlights. Had an idea to build a set of retrofits using DOT approved Jeep Wrangler LED headlights and could not be more stoked with the results. Output is awesome and it was really easy to set them up securing them directly to the bowl with a little creativity. I am completely mindblown of how well this worked and very hapy with the result:
    93,777 miles.jpg jeepretro1.jpg jeepretro2.jpg jeepretro3.jpg jeepretro4.jpg

Also at 90,000 miles: sparkplugs, diff fluid front back & xfr case, went back to stock horns as well
