TRD S/C URD Fuel Upgrades 9 aftermarket gauges!!
I've read plenty of threads with very high mileage Taco's. 300k, 400K, or more. It makes me feel good that mine may only have 50% of its' life used up at 161K.

    Here's the specs:
98, ExtCab TRD 3.4L Auto 4x4. Put the 2nd gen SC and the URD fuel system upgrades on in '01.
Have a whole series of aftermarket autometer gauges-Boost, tranny temp, EGT, A/F wideband, oil temp and pressure plus water temp. LOVE that the 3.4 came w/2 unused ports right in the block, made putting in the oil temp/pressure gauges a breeze. Also have an aftermarket tranny cooler. Just recently put 17" rims and 285/70R17's on it.

I don't do a lot of commuting, just weekend errand and road trips.

So here I am just after its' 17th birthday (certification sticker in the doorjamb has a manufacture date of 4/1998). Bought new from Toyota of Naperville (Illinois) with less than 10 on the Odo. Now reading 161,900. Less than 10K a year average!

Can anyone beat this for an older/lower mileage truck? I did see this in another post:
https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/who-bought-their-1st-gen-new-and-still-owns-it.370540/. Elnip out of ?LasCruces, NM has a 98 with only 96K on it if he didn't accidentally leave a digit out of his post. Elnip, you here bro'?

First pic is just after I brought it home. Next one is a few weeks ago heading up the North Cascades Highway . And for anyone who says a Taco can't tow...the two pics following are at a truck stop somewhere west of Chicago where I took a truck weight (5100 on the dot!) and the trailer weight (2900 lbs - GVWR placard read 2800-well, what U-haul doesn't know can't hurt them now) as I returned home to Seattle about 10 years ago. Only issue I ran into was needing to pull over and cool down as I was heading up to Mt Rushmore and the engine temp needle got close to the red. I didn't have the aftermarket gauge in yet so I'm not sure how hot it really got. I didn't set any speed records, but I didn't have any issues, either. Didn't put in a drop of oil, and still don't between changes. Mobil 1 every 5-6 K.

Anyway...let's see some LOW mileage rigs!

'98 with 132k miles. Bought it new in March of '98. Regular cab as you can see with the 2.7L and 5 speed, manual hubs. No options except for AC and cold weather package. Has an aftermarket cruise control system and I changed out the stock cassette player to a factory CD player from eBay. The canopy was $15 and while ugly, keeps my stuff dry. And I got a trailer hitch for it.

I put on 70k miles in the first 2 years. It's gotten progressively less use. I still have one of those static windshield sticker from '08 calling for an oil change at 128k miles. It gets a fully synthetic oil, axles, transmission, xfer case change every April. The radiator gets dumped and refilled every other year.

I used to drive as part of work and got to expense miles so I got this truck for "free". It was also my dad's go-to hunting vehicle for a while so it's spent thousands of miles off road. For a while it was the primary tow vehicle in the family (2400lb boat). It's moved yards of dirt and tens of yards of mulch over it's life. It's just become my daily driver again until I can get a 2016.

I just turned over 50k on my 98' a couple weeks ago. Bought the truck from an 88 year old woman last year. It was her husbands truck who died in early 2000. She would drive it a couple times a month just to keep everything working on it but for the last 6 years or so she wasn't able to drive stick shift so it just sat there. I had to replace the rotten tires and changed all the fluids in it but other than that I haven't really had to put much money into it. I'm about to replace the rear leaf springs though and it's eventually going to need a new clutch. Love this old truck and how simple everything is on it. I had a 2012 Tacoma but didn't like it so I sold it.

I just went outside real quick & took these. I'll try to get better ones when I get a chance. Haven't washed it in months.

What's Your opinions on this truck? 1995 with 103,00 miles. They are asking $5700, clean title, is that a fair price?

    Ha!
I'd take it, if the frame is okay, etc. (This posting might be a better fit under Gen1 Sale or Discussion.)
