In January, my frame was checked and confirmed to be OK at that time. I was told to bring it in in the spring/summer to get the coating done. I dropped it off last night. SA said I could pick it up Friday evening. They gave me a Camry loaner.

I finally dropped off my 06 Tacoma yesterday to get the frame replaced and now have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude with all the bells and whistles as a rental. The service transmission light came on the day I got it and went away the next day and the guy from Enterprise said it may be due to it just having the oil changed, but I am not sure why that would matter. They said it could be a week or two weeks for the frame to get replaced. I need work on my muffler and power steering and the service guy said the labor would be free or discounted.

I'd like to possibly get my clutch replaced as well since I am at 104,000 miles. I will keep everyone updated once I get my truck back. So far the dealer has been great in the process and has seriously been hassle free on their end.

^That 9-speed in the KL shifts funny even when it's working.

Do the rear main seal while you are in there, its like a $30 part and if you are doing the clutch you are right there. good insurance IMO

i had mine done with 122k miles and i am glad they did it, there was some life left on it, but not a ton. i had them do rear main seal, urd stage 2 clutch, urd TOB and the remainder of the toyota TSB for the squeaky clutch. The URD bearing has slightly different geometry than the stock clutch and it matches the TSB geometry. So to get the normal clutch feeling you need to get the TSB pivot ball and TSB slave cylinder put in so everything jives.

I supplied the parts and paid for 4 hours labor, it was more than i thought it should have been but they wouldnt budge on it and it included surfacing the flywheel and the labor on the seal. still cheaper than if i had it done normally.

noted. they quoted me the standard rate for replacement. i'd be happy at 4 hours plus parts. i'll ask the new service adviser what he thinks. and make a stink about the 6 months it's been sitting there. they could do it now when they have spare time as filler work.

Yeah they said it was there. I have only been to the dealer for reasons related to getting this frame replaced and that is it. I just bought the truck in October 2014. I have not heard anything from them yet but with the holiday weekend I figure I will give them some extra time. But I would've thought they would call me about my power steering leak (rack and pinion) and the exhaust leak...it has been 4 work days. No rush though as I am enjoying the rental since it's new.

Dropping mine off on June 17th and it should be done by June 18th. I predict a 'coating' will be applied - mine is pretty good. One soft spot by the drivers door. Even my 'inspection' dude said it looked good. I'll be off for two days...so I figured, this would be the best time to get it done.

Quick advice anyone have 5100's and get the new leaf springs. What are the shocks set at. Reason I ask mine are at 1.75" and have add a leaf in the back. Sit about 1" or so higher in the rear. Well I'm getting a new frame and the new 4 leaf pack should the current seeking be ok or should I have the dealer drop the fronts to .85. They will not put add a leaf in. Any one have any experience with this yet?

    Stock for now...
I'm in the same situation - got frame inspected and now they want to coat it . I don't want that crap on my vehicle since I do my own work - really don't need to destroy clothes and such . There has to be a way to sue Toyota over this issue and stop them putting us on the hook for a coating that cannot work properly without making the issue worse . Guess I'll talk with an attorney and go from there , we shouldn't be forced to let them put this crap on an otherwise nice vehicle .

BTW - local dealer also inspected springs and checked on the idle/pedal response/cruise issue which is part of the Economic Loss settlement . Said springs were fine (badly negative arched , hits the bumps constantly) and of course could not duplicate the engine/throttle body issue . Yesterday , it did the no-response thing with the pedal again , twice . I've about had it , been through 2 dealers and several calls to Corporate with no luck or help .
