Take it from the guy with the telescoping rack. Going to take more than 100 dollars, and definitely more than a few days.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Tepui tent. Thanks to Adam for the great customer service. I look forward to posting pictures when it comes in.

Good to know, we'll stop using them. Down in Moab now. I'm just glad I wasn't the only one in the group having leaking problems.

Does anybody know if this is an issue for CVT tents as well?

Definitely a lot of rain. I have never had any issues with my Tepui but one thing I do like about the Eezi awn is the heavy PVC rain fly. It doesn't saturate through after lots of moisture or wear like the coated polyester or nylon fly on the Tepui would. Granted I never had any issues but if I did I would seal the seams on the canvas part and hit the whole tent with a DWR coating each year to keep it in tip top shape.

No issues with mine and I've been through some bad storms. I did add some waterproofing to the fly, not the tent, as a precaution.

Nikwax solarproofing/waterproofing spray. used it on my backpacks and winter coat/shell too. works great, holds up pretty well so you don't have to keep reapplying. no seam sealer but i did put the spray on extra heavy at the seams - like where the little sleeves for the metal bars are sewn to the rain fly. the first trip out in my RTT it rained like hell and I noticed that water was collecting in those sleeves. it was after that trip that i applied the waterproofing and haven't had any issues since.

I didn't do a thing to mine. I got dumped on all night 2 nights in a row and had zero leaks.

I think the fabrics are already treated with something but it wears out eventually. I'm sure I would have been fine either way, Ijust did the waterproofing for peace of mind.
That first summer with the RTT was rough - monsoon the first night out, then the trip where the tent tried to eat me when the wind picked up the cantilevered half, then a couple more monsoons...

RTT got wet it's first time this past weekend at the Grand Canyon. I never treated it as it's a dry climate here in So-Cal, but it held up fine with zero leaks.

Nice, I am thinking about just doing a seam seal. I have a stargazer, so there are plastic windows sewn onto the rainfly. I feel like those seams are the most vulnerable point on the tent. @1MK killer camp spot!!!

    Gentleman,

I stumbled upon this thread a while back. After reading a lot, I noticed a lot of people talking about an anti condensation matt.

I'm moving my Mombasa RTT from my old truck to the Tacoma at the moment. Every time I went camping I had to deal with a lot of condensation.

My tent doesnt have a matt under the mattress. Can you order that seperatley? And does it reallt help with condensation?

CVT offers it separately - pre cut to fit in their tents, not sure if it would be the right size for your tent
    http://cascadiatents.com/Anti-Condensation-Mats.htm?m=83&s=656
you might also check out marine supply stores - the mats were originally made for use on boats to keep condensation away from matresses, cushions, etc.

    Awesome thanks!

Does it really keep the condensation out? Or does it significantly reduces it?

    *EDIT*

Seems like mine is the same / similar to the Mt. Bachelor
