I would like one too. I don't know how folks here define a "kit." I'm sure most of us wouldn't mind just getting all the major parts thrown into a box and mailed to us. No instructions are necessary because they're all here in this thread. Maybe Ben will consider throwing the main parts like the motor, cables and push-pull bracket into a box, charge the buyer a fee for the convenience of not having to gather all the parts from all over the place or to make push pull bracket, and put it in the mail. Maybe people can sign up and pre-pay so he'll know how many parts packages to put together, and just make one trip to the post office. I know it would help those of us in Canada who can't find the motor for a reasonable price from Canadian suppliers, and most US suppliers would not ship to Canada. Anyway, just a thought.

I'm sorry, I have to laugh. Doesn't anybody read anymore? Ben hasn't been making these kits for like 2 years, yet don't read, just ask. Do some leg work people, come on!

I did read. I know the kits aren't made anymore. I did the legwork, and some parts are hard to get in Canada without forking out a lot of money. Also, the push pull bracket requires access to a machine shop.

Im sorry, I have to laugh, because your assuming I haven't read the whole thread you knob.

I was expressing my want for this product in an effort to make benWA realize that maybe he should start making these kits again, as many other people are also interested.

definitely bring these back! I am sad to hear you no longer have the time to build this kit. I knew I should have ponied up the dollhairs when I saw this kit years ago.

You'll have to make your own kit, but its not too difficult. Benwa has provided a surplus of information if you read this thread.

I did this mod earlier this year based on Benwa's instructions, but trying to improve on it (mine is fully hidden behind the plastic tubs in a DCSB), and got more use out of the rear window in the week following the mod than I had in the previous 4 years.

Would you consider sharing what you did? I think the rear window in my '13 has been open maybe 2X so far. Having a power motor would certainly make it more useful. My former truck was a STD cab (non-toyaota) and I'd have the window open all the time.

I was going to attempt a full write up at some point but I'll give you all the info I have for now.

Here are the Benwa instructions I started with: https://www.tacomaworld.com/attachments/tacoma-sliding-window-instructions-ac-v1-1-pdf.234640/

    1) Fab drawing of Benwa's window bracket (this is the most important part of the mod):
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/attachments/window-bracket-pdf.234633/
(only thing I think different about mine is using 10-32 thread for the set screw holes and the cable holes at each end are smaller diameter, all per Benwa's posts on the topic)
    2) Videos of BenWA's install:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...quick-install-kit.171805/page-65#post-7508206
    3) Write-up of using the Sienna Rear Vent switch:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ng-window-mod-kit.272896/page-16#post-7288230
    4) Write-up of modifying a generic power window motor:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...quick-install-kit.171805/page-71#post-8006626

    5) I used some bicycle cable tensioners back-to-back like this also:
(I have almost exactly what is shown here. One setup on each cable run from the motor)

Everything so far comes directly from reading what has already been posted in this tread.

    6) Here is the motor I used (but you can use just about any motor, you will be rebuilding it regardless so any motor will do):
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/351262906389?item=351262906389&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

    7) Strip the motor down to only its most basic mounting bracket, open it and remove the drive cables it comes with. Replace cables with longer lengths. I used high quality bicycle brake lines (you need 2 and I started with 8' long and trimmed excess afterwards) although there is a lot of discussion about them not being strong enough - mine are holding up so far. (See link to motor rebuild post above)

    8) There are several ways to mount the motor, from adhesive to bolting/screwing. I chose to bolt mine due to having easy access to hole locations that didn't compromise the body of the truck. The key to getting my setup fully hidden behind the stock plastics was to locate the motor completely off-center. This requires longer cable runs (thus starting with 8' lengths) but is worth it to me to retain the stock appearance.

Here is a link to an Album with some pictures of how parts were located: https://www.tacomaworld.com/media/albums/rear-window.21637/

This is really just regurgitating what has already been said in this thread. The hard part was already done by Benwa and others who posted helpful info. All I did was take that information and find a better location for the motor.

    Best of luck
