@keakar , we did make a compilation disc with Hotel California on it, and listened to it and thought of you while we were out there in the Taco!!

Then it was really weird, we went to Subway on Monday, and I was waiting in the Taco. This lady came out to her minivan next to me and when she started it, guess what song was BLASTING on her stereo? She was singing along at the top of her lungs while peeling :burnrubber:out of Subway in her minivan. Kind of a weird coincidence I thought. :)

We also found this adorable blues song by Brownie McGhee, so it made it on the compilation also -

Snakebite? Lots of opinions on that one. Most really apply to some specific bite location. If your not a doctor, currently the best info is keep the bite site below heart level and get the hell to a doctor.
So in the real world, avoid getting bitten.
In snake country we do things to give any hidden snakes the opportunity to warn us with a rattle. Swish/tap the trusty walking stick out in front like a blind person, hoping to initiate the "rattle" warning. Keep some pebbles in hand and toss them at likely looking spots as you walk. Bottom line is just be aware, it gets to be second nature and like the other fellow said, encounters are not as common as your fear would make you think.

That being said, found this guy on the patio.

    :eek:MG.

Remember when I said something about wanting to be your neighbor?

Um, yeah. No. Definitely no on that one now.

    Sorry DP. :D

PS, thanks for the tips, I like the tossing pebbles and tapping the stick ideas! I'm gonna get a proper walking stick figured out! :)

So I'm curious, when you had your loaner injectors, or it might have been the new ones, you thought maybe there was still a slight starting issue. Some of us thought maybe you were being hyper sensitive towards the starting thing. So I was wondering how its been starting/how do you feel about it now?? All good??

All good now. Not sure if we were hypersensitive then, or whether the combo of the injectors being brand new, plus new FPR and fuel filter and O2s made the extra difference, but we haven't questioned a single start since that day. Matter of fact, at the hotel parking lot, we heard the cranking of another vehicle starting. We both said, "that sounded like a Taco!" then looked over and sure enough, it was a first gen Taco. It is definitely starting normally all the time now, which makes us very, very happy. Don't want to play guessing games with that when you are in a remote place! Zaps the fun out of it if you are worrying about that. I absolutely LOVE not worrying about that anymore!!! :D

Sweet! Whereabouts and when exactly? We are planning as many trips east as we can possibly cram in, right now we are figuring it all out........

OK, topper is squeaky clean and work area around it is cleared out and ready for action. Tried sanding a small area with 320 grit and the osculating sander, it worked well. Going to mask up and go for it tomorrow. Then while making dinner, we started talking about what exactly I am painting it with.......

    Which got me thinking.........

Maybe I shouldn't bother doing a boring normal looking topper. Maybe I should do something more fun than that........

    Ideas TW?

Just talked it over more and thought about it. I am DEFINITELY not doing a solid color boring looking normal topper. It's only on when we go to goof around and have fun anyway, it's not like it's on when we'd go to a job interview or something! So it's the perfect thing to get crazy with.

    NEED IDEAS EVERYONE!!! : )

Being 1/2 Sasquatch I don`t really mind the cold when my winter Pelt is grown in.

Although shedding when the warmer weather gets here can be bad talk about the shower drain being full of hair.

PS: You think your Sasquatch comment helped clarify WTF is going on in this thread Wyoming? :D:D:D:D:D

It turned into a free for all once my truck was fixed by a brilliant dealer tech a couple weeks ago. But since our Taco's problems started in late Nov 2014 (when I started the thread), a lot of these people have been helping us nearly daily over the past 6 months. So now we're all just chatting about whatever, usually kind of Taco related but not always.

Join the conversation, we are nice over here! :) What the fuck is going on with your Taco? :D

I have the trailer frame completely welded up. Wired it for lights last night. My hope is to get it painted this evening. I forgot to snap a few pics of the current progress.

I'm back on overtime again, so limited time to get any true progress. Last time was 7, 12 hr midnight shifts. Had the holiday weekend off and jumped right back to 9, 12 hr day shifts. Fuck me. I don't like being dry this long.

Hey Knuckle! We listened and you are right, he does sound a lot like Waylon. He's pretty good!! Although Waylon will always be #1 in my book, over all other musicians......that guy has so many songs, its crazy! Never run out of new stuff to listen to it seems. He turned out some seriously awesome music in the late 70's/early 80's.

Anyway.......have you seen that guy perform locally? How was he? You ever get down to Nashville?

Nice!! Sounds like you are getting it done! Wacky paint job perhaps?

At least you appreciate the J & B more when you can't have it always, right? :)

Any ideas for me as far as what to paint on my topper?

I admit, last night when I posted that I was CERTAIN I wanted to paint it something exciting rather than normal and boring, I'd already had a drink. Or two. Or so. :D This morning, while re-reading that post, I realized maybe it was not the best idea I've ever had. :D

But I don't care, I'm still doing this. Or at least a solid color with some crazy something written or drawn on it. Ideas? C'mon K, surely you've got some wacky ideas for me!! :)
