Here is a $25 setup. Took old tent poles and put in the corners of the bed liner. Put the tarp across the roof so we can keep the rear glass open. Our daughter can sleep in the extended cab, once I make a platform for her, so she is safe. I bought two paint roller extending poles at Harbor Freight so I can keep the end of the tarp up like a canopy. So you can be covered if it's raining and don't have to sit in the truck. I plan to put astro turf at the end of the tail gate to stand on. Cheap setup and it's no different than a tent.

that sir....if really fvcking ghetto...looks like a mobile meth lab.:p

that bed tent is pretty fancy, but if its nice enough in the summer i just stake down a tarp over my bed and call it good (if its only for a night) or just throw up a normal tent.

Real ghetto? It's a tarp on poles and no different than a tent in the bed. The 10 foot Ford in your picture is not ghetto by any means.

compared to the store bought truck tent on op's picture, yes, it looks ghetto and jerri rigged together. im sure it works just great, or you wouldnt post up and explain about it, and there is absolutly no problem with ingenuity and saving some money. And the ford isnt so much ghetto as it is extream redneck...and a waste of money. The thing sits in the parking lot and moves only to be washed every 6 months. Its too tall and the tires are a bit too big to be legal. It defanitly isnt mine...i just took a picture next to it with my lil', lowered 5 lugger because its easily the biggest truck where i live, and i did the comparison for shock value on the picture. k

I was looking to find a truck topper/camper but they are expensive, hard to find and not in the budget. This was the cheapest/lightest thing I could come up with. Most of the time it won't be up but if it happens to rain there is cover.

That is a nice tent especially for $60..all you need now is an air bed for the bedliner

Well dammit, the compact truck tent isn't going to be in stock until August 16!! Does anybody know of another place to purchase one of these? I googled and found another place but it said the same thing about availability.
