I just changed the color of my cluster to green and the needles are kinda hard to see at night, they blend in with the green. I painted the back of them baby blue but it's only blue in the daytime and turns green with the cluster at night with the lights on. I do have a 1st gen by the way and thanks for the help.

Also am I supposed to paint the back of the needle the color of choice and back it with white?

White would be better in reflecting the green color. I think you are going to have a hard time with the color blending together. LEDs tend to narrow the color spectrum to a small range with in the color choice.... Minus white.
