hey everyone I've been in the market for a new truck. I found a 2004 tacoma pre runner TRD with a rebuilt title for $7000. Is that worth the price or am I getting ripped?

Rebuilt title means that it was in a wreck, totaled, then bought and repaired. Need to find out what the damage that got it totaled was. Was it Repaired by a professional and how good of a job did they do? Are there still issues that need to be addressed? Also I'm gonna imagine it has a good amount of miles on it for being 12 yrs old...Personally I would just spend an extra $2-3K and get one with a clean title.

    Not near enough info .

    Mileage ??

    Drive Train??

In this day if it was in a minor accident enough to deploy the air bag most vehicles are totaled!!

Then here in Pa if said vehicle was scrapped because it needed a timing belt etc the paper work was processed I bought the vehicle to make street legal it would need a reconstructed title.

Myself I would have no problem with a reconstructed title

The over all condition of the truck plus the region your in help dictate the price and how bad the seller needs money or not.

It's a 2004 Tacoma pre runner 2wd v6 3.4 with the rear locker. It was hit in the rear and the fixed back to new almost no problems and all the body work that was done was toyota certified. He js all the paper work from it being rebuilt. The truck has 140000 miles on it. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it or not??

To myself no because me and 2wd trucks just don`t get along.

If that is what the market brings in your area.

You don't tell us how many miles on it. That matters a lot.

Plug it in to edmunds.com and see what you get.

Personally, I wouldn't pay top dollar for a salvage title vehicle. I wouldn't rule it out if I was looking for a bargain basement deal. But not top dollar.

Is it worth it to you? That's the question.

7000 to me is A LOT for that truck to me.

I'm not sure of the value of a pre runner with a salvage title in that case has anyone seen a good tacoma on the east coast around 7000

After spending five minutes on craigslist in my area (west coast, san francisco bay) that price is right in there for that condition/age/mileage. If anything - it's pretty good. Don't know how your area compares to out here however.
