2006 Tacoma Busted Bilstein Shock/Suspension Questions

Hello All,

I have a 2006 Tacoma that I purchased last October with about 103,000 miles on it. I will probably be replacing the front and rear suspension in the next few months depending on a few variables:
1. Toyota leaf spring recall. Will there ever be an answer?
2. Acquiring cash flow.

In waiting for this process to happen I also had to move to Fort Collins, CO from Colorado Springs. During this process one of my stock Bilstein shocks snapped. Now my question is: Can I replace one of the shocks only and wait it out until I can redo the entire suspension? I was thinking if just getting a cheaper shock at NAPA and taking it easy until I can acquire the parts to do my entire suspension and lift. Buying all new Bilstein shocks would seem like a waste considering I am lifting the truck. If Toyota ever decides to pony up and do something about the recall then I would just let them replace my leaf springs and then not raise my truck. Does any one have any ideas or experienced the same problem?
