    We scratched that Purdy trans skid and rear bumper at frank raines :) thank goodness Budman had a better approach to that line haha

    Dave, the owner of the FJ was out wheeling a while ago. He didn't turn off the roll sensing curtain airbags (RSCA button). While wheeling he went off camber which caused them to deploy. There were a few TW members out that day and either saw it or heard about it and posted here. In light of the incident he got personalized plates as a reminder to turn off RSCA when wheeling.

    Way more than I have saved up. He said it was loud as hell, scared the shit out of him for a sec and they had to cut the bags out in order to see. He said it cost $9k after parts and labor. I never saw the receipt and can only take it for what he claims.

    I just read through the manual on my 4Runner, it didn't say anything about a indication before deployment. Just said turn them off when extreme off-roading and that they are automatically turned on when the vehicle is started. Should relabel it as the "$9k savings" switch

    The other thing when wheeling - it's handy to have a big old binder clip in easy reach of the driver seat, so that if you stop the truck on an angle to get out, you clip the seatbelt where it is so it can't retract. On a sufficient incline, if it retracts the ratchet will be locked and you won't be able to pull it out and put it back on again.
