How many of you guys have an after market alarm? Is the factory alarm not good or is it just a keyless entry system? I'm asking because there has been a few reports of car break-ins at my gf's place.

Is there a truck club on the island or does everyone on here just meet up?

Unless you paid the extra for the alarm from the dealer the keyless entry is not a alarm. I got a viper from security and sound if you do get viper don't get the color screen it looks nice but it sucks not worth the money if your like me and always at the beach or on a boat the fob gets rusted fast on the insides

I have an aftermarket. I have a viper with the smart start setup. I don't actually have the remote start because I would have to remember to hit clutch start every time.
I got it when I realized that the installed is just a lock and blinking light and since I have a lot of $$ invested in my interior I wanted some more protection.
Also a thing around here is to use a heat gun to melt the guys that holds the back window latch on and slide the window after it falls off. I had a black painted dowel in the channel for a while but there is a guy that makes a powder coated steel bar for that. Works well and looks nice.
Another thing I've heard of its people removing the bolts for your cats and taking them. I have a couple spot welds around mine just in case.

We have outings/meet-ups once in a while. Someone usually posts it here on TW. The last one was a camping/off roading trip to Peacock Flats. I didn't know anyone at first, just sorta showed up to a meet. lol

Don't get a steel one. Use brass or aluminum. A magnet can lift it out of the track.

Went to Kaena Point today. Trail markers are barely visible (faded) and I saw a few 4x's cruising all over the place. I lost site of the trail markers while I was there and said wtf... So I just went where I wanted... Was dry except for when I reached the turnaround point at the walk-thru gate. Driving back it was dumping rain. Got nice a f'ing muddy...:p Anyways...first time I used the gate combo. Works well, but there were a few jeeps staring me down looking like they wanted to piggy back in. I promptly closed the gate on them...:p VIP only in here...lol

Good point. Mines wedged in pretty tight. In fact I cuss a lot whenever I'm trying to get it out. Now I am going to try to remove it with a magnet though

Sounds like it was fun! Were you alone? :stirthepot:
