Everything was as loosened as it can get (without the nuts coming off - cause that would have been as serious PITA to get back on) and I was pushing, pulling, cursing, praying... nothing worked :notsure:

I loosened the two circled in red, then turned the adjustment head counter clockwise (until the whole long bolt was wiggling) then tried moving the pump to get the belt off. Didn't budge.

So then I turned the adjustment head clockwise until it wouldn't turn any more.... then tried moving the pump to get the belt off. Didn't budge.

In the process of cleaning the throttle body and glad I decided to. I'll probably also do the intake manifold because it is also pretty bad. The air intake side is so much cleaner image.jpg

I gave it the finger and headed to my GF's. About to sit poolside.

My friend's shop is warrantying out the power steering pump on Thursday so they'll throw the new AC belt on at the time.

Cool thanks for chiming in. Was worried that the older trucks maybe didn't have the right components or something. Glad to know it will work. I mean I could always just turn them off completely when in the desert.

Check to make sure its not the rack guide in the rack. Had a shop tell me my inner tie rods were shot, put new ones on and still had the same play at the wheels. Turns out the guide in the rack was the source of my issues

At the low spot at the intake plenum to manifold connection there is a small puddle of oil and is the throttle body and entire intake system is very dirty and gunked up. Would this be from an oil leak somewhere?image.jpg

here's a pic of the 3rd gen 4runner seats i swapped in to my truck. the color isn't a perfect match but the extra comfort and support makes up for that.
