2nd gen guys, is it necessary to remove the wheel hub to remove the CV? Or can I just remove the caliper, rotor, tie rod and rotate the spindle out of the way enough? I'm helping my step dad replace his cv's tonight and the install guides are all over the place.

    What?
Just unbolt the two big ass bolts on the bottom of the LBJ and the 35mm axle nut and you don't have to take any of that shit off

I know this is late, but I had a bro moment at a red light with a dude in a black double cab TX/Pro on Saturday in Albany. If you're on here, thanks again for the compliments

Perfect, all of the install guides said to remove the hub or tie rod or sway bar. Just watched a video and it all makes sense. Once again Jason to the rescue.

It's the same process as a first gen, but 2 bolts instead of 4 on the LBJ/spindle.
You may have to remove the sway bar end link though if the sway bar is still on.

Okay, who's got the Silver TRD Pro at the Tesoro Martinez Refinery. Have only driven by and seen the backside with what looks like 'TRD PRO' badge on the tailgate.
