Take it someplace else...find an Off-Road shop. 5100s are very popular on several makes/models...Or for a regular mechanic..ask him if he knows what 5100s are first. That is a reasonable price if you felt confident in his ability.
It is actually very simple...but slightly dangerous due to the coil spring. Here is the whole process.

You also need it aligned after installing them.

I've got another question for you Primo. When I ordered the 5100s of course the front is 0"-2.5" of lift. Then for the rear it says w/0"-1". So is it 0" or 1" of lift for the rear? Dude I'm completely new to all of this!

What you are reading is referring to the shock being the correct one for 0 to 1" of lift. It by no means is saying that it will raise the rear suspension by an inch.

Yeah thats whats sucks where I live there isnt shit for places that just do 4x4s. The guy I talked to yesterday for being from a big city hes got alot of built up jeeps at his place. I bought the stuff he told me to for a extra 80 bucks and a few beers oh well I guess. I see his point on the new bushings you would think the new front shocks would come with them.

On your previous post you mention top bearing plate. Which I see no point in replacing. But now you say bushings.....they may be worn out a little after a few years. Toytec sells them....but I agree...they should come with the new shocks. Just a visual pre-install inspection should determine if you need to order them.

Yeah I did say the bearing plate at first. I wouldnt think that would need to be replaced either. But I bought the whole kit through headstrong off road with all the bushings to just in case. Im looking around to find the right place to work on my truck. I dont want to just let anyone work on it. If I dont need that kit I will sell it or just keep it I guess lol.

Yes, they are the real N-fab ones...ordered from 4-Wheels parts (Free shipping). These are the 3" tubes...they are little more, but look a lot better than the factory ones 2"... There is no gap in between them and the truck they are gloss powder coat. They are 3 years old and I have experienced not paint chipping or rust on them. I have read a lot of people have issues with the smitty builts or other knock offs.

They fit my needs perfectly, they look good and help me or a fine looking lady get in the truck much easier. I am not a big man, so I couldn't even sit in the seat without hoping up, while it was completely stock.

Big thanks to Primo 95 for helping with my new set up. Followed his advice to do the following:
    • 5100 adjustable struts on front - set to 1.75 (the 3rd setting)
    • 5100 shocks on the rear
    • N-fab nerf bars
    • 265/75/16 BFG AT KO2
    • 16 x 8.5 Level 8 Guardian wheels
My first time posting so hopefully this link will work to show pics. Thanks again Primo 95!!!! Very happy with how it turned out.

Hey guys, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I too am new to TW and to Tacomas in general. I recently bought a 2015 DC TRD off road. Love the truck, but really would like to level the front end out. The Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75" sounds like a great option, but I keep seeing all the horror stories of driveline vibrations (and other issues like front axle seals, etc.) with even the smallest of lifts/leveling kits on 2nd gen tacomas. Have any of you guys had these types of issues (specifically vibes) with the 5100s set at 1.75"? Also, where is the best place to purchase the 5100s?

I have not noticed any vibration issues but I have only had mine installed for 2 days.
I got my 5100s online at suspensionconnection.com. I bought them online because 4 wheel parts (where I had them installed) said they were on back order and had no timeline for when they would get them in.

No Horror stories here......Many TW drama queens with these horror stories tend to not tell you the whole story when it comes to vibration issues
    - I have load range E tires at 45psi
    - I installed everything myself and I have never worked on a car before
    - I didn't get it aligned
    - I bought my parts used
    - I didn't have my tires properly/regularly balanced
    - I just finished the Baja 1000
