I believe the springs are 650 lb. rated. I bought the Icon 2.5's new/unused from a member here.

    icon_25_zpswddkzwgz_276723ab6e8c7fd9e2f875d068ac625aa83b09ea.jpg

    I've looked at those steps.

    1) They are retarded expensive in Canada. (around $250 +)
    2) I'm not sure they'll work with the Avid RBG on the truck.
    3) The milk crate was free and I also use it to lift, prop, and get under the hood.

    Thanks for the tip!

I'm looking at getting some LCA skids, more for deflecting brush, shrubs, debris, and the occasional stump that I bump off of or ant hill that I plough through. How stout are these puppies?

I like them, I've dragged them on some rocks. I also like that they act as a mount for a secondary shock if I ever go that route.

I looked into them. They a freakin' pricey. I'm not, or will never need the second shock set up. I think that I'll fab my own. They look pretty simple to do.

Yeah I'm in the San Francisco bay area and most guys over hear run my friend Jerry's LCA skids from Bamf. They are pretty sick. I just wanted to be a little different, plus I got them on a 20% off, no tax and free shipping deal. Also, I might just add that second shock.

    I went with this:

    http://ricochet-off-road.myshopify....ol-arm-guard-set-toyota-tacoma-toyota-4runner

They are a lot lighter at 9 lbs total shipping weight. They also appear to offer more protection for components above the LCA against brush and debris. I'm not a rock crawler. I plough through low brush, so 1/4" aluminum plate should suffice.

... and going back to the original topic, my 2.5's have settled 1/2" down to 23" CH to fender. Now I really need a CMC. Oh, well.

I had to CMC after mine settled out also. I couldn't stand the thought of chewing up my new trail grapplers and it sounded pretty bad with the lugs hitting the cab mount.

Even scarier when the lugs grab while cornering and accelerating on an on ramp!

Awesome thread, Lots of good info! I've got dakars and super bumps on the back of mine but i wanted to do the relentless u-bolt flip and possibly add shims. Anyone know how i could make this work? Do the shims work with u-bolt flip? Can the normal super-bumps be welded to the u-bolt plate? Or would i need different ones? Thanks guys

    *EDIT*

This flip plate, but it would be nice if they offered it with the superbumps somehow.

Lol, so true!! Don't miss that!! Truth be told there are no on ramps here, but a couple of quick turns that made it rub.

Nice, did you get the bolt on or weld on sliders? Pics not showing.

I was thinking about the dakars also but can't really justify it since I just installed the 3 pack from ALCAN. Did you have the single or 3 pack a aal?

what would you say makes the dakars better than the 3 leaf pack? Is it a smoother ride unloaded, better flex both?

Well the ride is alot smoother..I havent flexed them yet..but the ride feels more controlled even in the front it totally changed the ride imo for the better..I loved driving my truck before...now I REALLY LOVE DRIVING MY TRUCK!!!! I just hope it doesnt change to much once it settles.. Remember though I was on original leafs with 86k and the AAL:)
