    Alas..no :pout:

I can't make my idea work with a roof section. Yet anyways. Perhaps once it's built I can make something work.

I hope so..I want my roof lights

Welp swapped out my battery terminals because they were corroded, and either my battery (which has been weird recently) decided to die in the span of 30 minutes of me replacing them and fixing my sub woofer wire. Took the battery to VatoZone, dude said it had 78CCA when it requires 600, went back home jumped it, left it on for 20 minutes. Turned it off, tried it again. Nothing, I'm assuming it's the battery because it can't hold a charge. Plan on buying an optima yellow top tomorrow

Oh and it makes a clicking noise when I turn the key, typical of a dead battery, just don't know the root cause. I was going to jump it again and take the positive off too see if it dies. Also going to check the electrolytes but it started to rain

Well after avoiding them for years, I was in a hurry last Friday and decided to drive through one of those auto-washes with the brushes? Starting just above the front fender flare on the driver's side catching the top of the fender flare in the process I have noticeable scratching, some fairly major scratching on the driver's door, then from the filler flap on back to the tail light just above the TRD sticker it is just "kick in the nuts" bad. It is obvious a swirling brush did it.

Filed a complaint and took pics on the spot but got the "our brushes can't do that" freakin' nonsense response from the local manager, and now I am waiting to hear back from the parent company on my official claim. Judging by the attitude of the local manager and the fact I haven't heard a peep yet, I will be surprised if I do hear anything. My insurance rep said American Family will try to go after them if I submit and execute a claim on my side but then it's a matter of how to try to fix it plus of course being out my $500 deductible . . .

My insurance estimate was at nearly $2K of damage but they were actually replacing both fender flares for the scratches that frankly could be lightly sanded and plastic-dipped or something much cheaper than replacement which I would likely do to the other side while I am doing it. I just don't know how to handle the paint damage. Was wondering what an appropriate stripe might do to simply cover it up if I could get something that wasn't too "Starsky and Hutch" looking? Stripe would have to start narrow on the front fender and get gradually wider toward the rear kinda like the Starsky and Hutch thing. With 14 year old paint, I am a little leery to strip-fix and blend just those areas and I don't at all want one whole side of my truck all new paint with the rest 14 years old. Naturally, I don't want to cough up the cash for a whole new paint job on what WAS a pretty damn cherry 2002 before last Friday.

    :frusty:

Suggestions? Preferably legal ones . . . I've already thought about the ones involving my sizable arsenal and other methods of morbid revenge.

Frack! Try to keep something nice . . . :censored:

If it's just swirl marks I'd try to clay bar then buff them out

Sorry to hear about the damage it caused. Thats why I always wash my mine by hand. I understand not everyone can wash their rig at their house, definitely only use touchless car washes

Oh, some will buff, and I can fix the fender flares easy enough, but the rest are some pretty serious scratches.

And, yes, as a rule I don't use these types of washes. Just freakin' figures I was in a hurry and thought I would try one that probably runs a 100 cars per day through it easy and I got nailed . . .

I see what your saying. Try a clay bar then a heavy duty compound then polish it and see if you can get the bad ones out

I'd buy an optima and see if that fixes it, gives you an excuse to buy one anyway :woot:

wired up my reverse cam, and replaced the parking brake cable from the cab. unfortunately i have to still break free the rusted spring clip under the cab and the pin that is on that arm also under the cab that the first part of the cable goes to, the arm moves fine, but that pin and the spring clip before it are rusted solid, been soaking them every hour for the last 2 days and they still don't budge

anyway here is a pict of the radio with the rear view camera on.

The cables you see coming out of the bottom of the ashtray area are a usb cable, and a MHL cable, the MHL allows me to connected my android phone to the radio and mirror its screen, very useful for navigation and the like. Although i personally like my garmin in the corner of the windshield, you do not have to take your eyes off the road to notice it, where on this one you have to look down at the radio

FFS. Letting it idle a few minutes will not charge a dead battery. It needs hours of driving to charge a battery. Or simply go to Harbor Freight and get a $20 charger. Even with a dedicated battery charger it'll take most of a night.

Walmart also has cheap chargers, i picked one up years ago when in need, cant remember the model, but it has a bad battery detection circuit in it, it will auto turn off if it cant recharge the battery.

Has anybody done a switch panel in the head liner just behind the map lights? I'm thinking that would be pretty awesome
