Just joined the forum and probably should have joined earlier.

I've got a 2013 TRD Tacoma 4WD Double cab and have been recently been hearing excessive rattling noise when I accelerate. After a little bit of research I've narrowed it down to either the heat shield rattling or the rear portion of the drive shaft. It definitely sounds like it is coming from the front though.

Is this a dangerous issue? I am heading to Florida tomorrow from South Carolina and I don't have time to take my truck in to be looked at before tomorrow.

I've been hearing the similar noise I feel. Doesn't make the noise when sitting and reving the engine but when acclerating it makes the moderate to loud, metal rattling noise around 1500 RPM predominantly. I hear it slightly when above 1500 RPM and faster speeds but more so at lower speeds in 2nd or 3rd gear. I have an automatic 2014 Tacoma Sport Dual Cab.
I also feel it struggle to shift properly when coasting down hills. I feels as if it gets stuck around 3000+ RPM and won't shift until I give it more gas. Does this happen to you? I'm taking it in tomorrow and hopefully will out with some resolution and answers.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I'm gonna guess heat shields but lubing the u-joints wouldn't hurt.

Do you think this has to do with the shifting issue?
