well, I blew up two cv boots and almost lost all my rear diff oil:eek: scraped on a rock and twisted the drain plug loose just a bit. must of been on kanes cuz there was sand packed into the little ring around the plug. sand was wet with gear oil.... that was close....
    not bad overall though:)

Definitely came out with less broken shit than some people.

I need to replace the rear shocks
    New lower link bushings
Do some more welding on the rear bumper

    Other than that, i'm good

Just a minor push of the front fender and a loose front t-case output for me.

Actually on the first day I also let the magic smoke out of both my compressor and CB.

Was just thinking that next time I might bring my 12 ton press, dial indicator and some crush sleeves for gear installs. I think I have a couple of spare non-elocker 3rds laying around too.

I wonder if a bit of extra carrier bearing pre-load might reduce ring gear deflection under load and prevent some of the breakages.

I don't know what the RT organization budget is, but is there any room in it for a few sets of gears in the common ratios? Anyone who busts could then just pay the replacement costs and be back on the trail then next day instead of missing most of the event and having to trailer home.

i.e. it wouldn't be an outright cost for RT, but just some cash tied up in assets.

The cheaper R&P sets run about $170 in fleabay and should be enough to get people going.

Or to save on time and hassle everyone gets a 2X4 installed under their gas pedal.

Certainly cheaper than Dana 60s and 14-bolts for everyone.

It may not entirely work... I once broke an IFS CV by letting the clutch out while the other foot was on the brake. i.e. no gas pedal involved. Crawl box for the win.
