I had to replace the ignition coil pack on the cylinder 6 after a the truck started missing and threw a P0306 code after dousing it with water in the Montecello Box. As it turns out the coil pack was not seated correctly and that allowed water past the gasket into the coil pack hole around the spark plug and shorting the coil. 388160 miles.

Coil pack? Man that thing's been nothing but trouble for you.

Man, that is awesome! I would love to get mine to 400K!
My 06 PreRunner Taco has 178K miles with no major repairs. I have needed to replace 2 u-joints but other than that, just normal wear items and maintenance. I have used Penzoil Platinum 5W-30 in it from the time of my first oil change. After the warrantee period, I have changed the oil at 10K mile intervals. It uses about a half a quart between changes, although I wonder how much ends up on the rag from wiping the dipstick at each fillup.
The frame has a few rust spots on it, nothing bad, but that is probably due to me living on the coast and driving it on the beach. I haven't taken it to the dealer to inspect the frame and leaf springs, but I will soon. I have several dings on the side due to my teenagers, but overall, it looks great.
    Excellent thread!

Mine will probably rust out before then.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Do you use redline mt-90 in the transmission and differentials? And what is the capacity of them.

I figure I may as well order it and swap the fluids after break in. Have about 2800 miles on my truck now!

Also for what its worth Casterol GTX 5w30 is what my Gramps ran in his 1997 Tacoma for over 270k. Truck still ran and drove great when Toyota bought it back for frame rust.

All said and done. Not counting gas, but adding maint costs and purchase price. After he sold it back to toyota he spent 700 bucks on the truck in over 270k and 10 years. His was a 4cyl 5spd 4x4 and towed regularly.

Just passed 82000 on my 08. Regular oil change every 5000 miles. So far just left wheel bearing. Plugs 1 time, front brakes 1 time. Run regular gas. Probably switch to Mobil 1.
