I got pods from Mike and a week later 2 lights went out so I am in the process of replacing them with a 10 inch rigid E2 hyperspot.

See, I bought Mikes bars because they are almost spot on for rigid knock offs, so the amount of lumens I'm putting out might not be the same as Rigid, but I can still turn night into day :). Plus I'm gonna slowly switch them all out 1 by 1 for rigid most likely down the road

That's why I bought my lights originally was to avoid paying rigids prices but now I see why they are worth it.

I mean, I had Chinese lights running fast out in the desert and they were fine. Obviously I had to run a couple more pods than most to have the same light as a single rigid bar (I didn't get a combo light) but I wasn't in the dark by any means.

I picked up two 30" bars and a 50" and some pods front Mike right when he started this thread, still haven't got the new truck to put them on yet, but I took them out of the box to test fit rigid covers and they snapped right on with zero issues. I'm happy with the products. If I turn em on and half of them are dead, I'll obviously be out of warranty and I'm pretty sure this thread will be dead lol, but oh well, I don't feel like I spent a boat load of cash on them to justify anger. I'll just move on and replace with Rigids :)

I don't know why everyone has had problems with the knock off leds. I have a 41" 20" 2 7" 2 pods never had a led go out on any of them and all of them were bought off of Amazon for dirt cheap. I will agree they are not as bright as rigid but fuck I could have the 41" fail and buy 4 new ones and still be cheaper than rigid.

I went and did a price check on the lights I have from Mike vs Rigids...let's just say I don't feel like blowing over 3k in cash on lights vs what I spent with Mike lol. I'll eat that 3k cost slowly over the next few years as LED tech chsnges

They are bright but if you havent been behind a rigid bar while driving of the same size you will realize that these arent even comparable.

I have ridden with plenty of people running rigid as well as lined up next to people with Rigid and while they are brighter, I didn't feel like they completely out shined my cheapo Chinese lights by very much. Obviously I'd like to run American lights and have that extra hair of light, but not at that cost

Hey guys some interesting comments. So am I understanding correctly that these AVEC lights are probably perfectly adequate? Just that Rigid lights will shine that little bit brighter?

I guess to put things into perspective, I have never ran an LED bar so don't really have much to compare with, but sounds like I would be happy with AVEC from the comments.

Most any LED bar is perfectly adequate for what most people need. Some people want brand name and American made quality. Some of these Chinese bar light companies can be pretty hard to push a warranty claim through so you're rolling the dice when buying, hoping you didn't get one with a defect. Seems like the QA for lights these days is coming up though, alot less horror stories than a few years ago. Looks like they are trying to bring their quality level up to rigid wth their destruction testing and such

But then, as stated above, if you do get a defect, you can buy the same bar again and most likely be perfectly fine, and still not pay probably half of what an American name brand would run

Most chinese lights, all you have to really do is expoxy around the lens to keep the water out. Light output isn't the best, but it gets the job done. Brighter than running high beams down the road haha

Alright thanks. Haven't bought one yet, but I'm kind of in the same position as you. I'd like to support a North American build, but can't really justify paying 5x more for it.

Yea as I said earlier in this thread...I don't care what or who you buy from, do yourself a HUGE favor and just check every bolt on the light for tightness. 99% or clouded lenses or moisture in the light is because there was a loose bolt or two that got missed.

I had Rigid lights and replaced them with comparable Avec LEDs and did not notice the difference other than a heavier wallet. The Rigids were D2s and I replaced them with Avec 6 LED pods. I also have a 30" Avec bar that I've been happy with. None of the lights have leaked and the lenses all seem to be in good condition.

Just got a refund for my headlights, sent them back because one burned out and they were very dim in my opinion. Took a bit but I got my money back.

So you replaced your rigid lights for Chinese lights? Avec isn't bad but I ditched my spot pods for the hyperspot duallys.
