Telsa is looking at moving out of the old NUMMI facility too. Taxes are the problem, not just wages.

My Tacoma was made in Mexico. This RAM pos I'm in right now with half of the dash panel lit up because of a faulty "radio frequency receiver" module was made in the good ole USA. It's not the people making the vehicle that determine the quality. It's the amount of quality assurance being done that determines that.

I am gonna say you are wrong and you gonna take this personal.
There are two different Quality issues:
    #1. Bad manufacturing
    #2. Bad design
No rattles after car is together, proper level of fluid in transmission is all manufacturing.
Radio dying 60 days after purchase is bad design, so is lack of paint on the frame, or bad head gasket, or cracking engine mounts, or a need to put stickers because payload decreased.

People who put toghtether a truck make all the difference in the World. no quality assurance can accommodate every possible screw up.
Hence why NUMMI trucks have generally much better fit and finish...
So how about paying better to qualified workers. NUMMI seemed to have perfect balance, it was Union but seemed to care about products. My 07 which came from NUMMI is probably good example of what quality should be.
But than again it has Toyota design problems (like not enough paint on frame, or plastic wheel bearings) I dont blame NUMMI workers for the fact Toyota wanted to get cheap bearings from China, or wanted to save on paint.
But if brand new Truck rattles like old mans testicles, that is manufacturing.
Either way thats what happens when companies go cheap, and this is happening to Toyota.
If that's their choice than they will have to compete with other Walmarts of car industry. I heard China is about bring their cars. Can't compete with that.

Nobody really wants to buy that, Hence I never changed my truck. Lucky 2016 seems to have the same frame and a lot of components, so my truck may have a lot of spare parts in the future.

First off it's not personal when you write it like that. If you always wrote things like that then I don't think either of us would have a problem:cheers:.

NUMMI put out some crap too. I think your forgetting the Toyota Matrix/GM Vibe. That thing was a turd for reliability and was Toyota designed.

I can't tell the difference between a Mexican and a US built truck TBH, but that doesn't mean it's wrong to buy one based on your opinion. Whenever there is a discussion on a failure on here about it I never hear people knocking one or the other with evidence behind it.

There's no doubt all auto companies are sourcing cheaper parts out of china, and I totally agree that it sucks. I'd easily pay another 10K on my truck if it had Japanese bearings and US built electronics.

China is bringing their cars. I heard a rumour Cherry (Chinese manufacturer) will be selling there lowest model through WalMart ironically. I could see it happen. If they can put out a car that passes safety for $6-10K a bunch of folks will buy it even if it's complete crap.
