My experience is short since I just got mine in April, but I've been impressed with the quality and the one time I've used it so far went smoothly and the line speed was good. I've also seen several of them used on some Land Cruiser builds done by Cruiser Outfitters/Land Cruisers Direct. That was my first exposure to them. Knowing the guys at Cruiser Outfitters and at Land Cruisers Direct helped me feel confident in them since they only use top quality stuff. Also, I figure if Arctic Trucks uses them on their trucks they are probably good. Interestingly, when I was shopping, I was also looking at a TJM Stealth winch and called to buy one from Slee Off Road. They had sold the last of their TJM winches and were actually dropping them from their catalog and have since replaced them with ComeUp. Christo Slee (the owner) told me he felt that the ComeUp was a MUCH better winch. That was enough evidence for me to feel good about getting one.

For those of you that may be looking for hydraulic winch options, ComeUp has you covered with these too. Our hydraulic winches have double the duty cycle of electric winches and are commonly found on tow vehicles that are in use constantly day to day. Check out some of the great Hydraulic winches from ComeUp on our website. These may be complete overkill on most Tacomas, but if any of you are doing some crazy builds and need something with the extra power of a hydraulic setup, we've got options for you.

I know it's a Jeep and a Toyota probably wouldn't have been stuck in this situation ;) but it's good to know that our winches won't have any trouble in conditions like this.

Just out of curiosity, how loud are they. I helped a buddy out the other day and he has an off-brand winch. It was so freakin' noisy I asked him if there was grease in the reduction box. I expect there to be some noise as part of the operation, but I would think that in today's world with material and efficiency advancements, a winch could be used without needing ear protection.

My SEAL 9.5rs is no louder than any other winch I've ever used. Definitely wouldn't call it noisy.

Maybe your not competing in the Rain Forest Challenge, but you need a fast winch to get you through the bogs of Cape York, or across the flashflood plane in Southern Utah during your weekend adventure. The new SEAL Gen 2 9.5RSI is the winch to do it with impressive specs and features, fast line speed, and the "Intelligence Dashboard" to keep you informed of your vehicles batter condition in real time.

    Too many to list now.
These are what we carry up here in Alaska at Green Tree Fabrication. Can't say enough good things about this company in general, let alone their commitment to a quality product. The free spool mechanism on these winches is a great design that we find favorable to the competition and line speed has always been adequate. The bells and whistles on the new line of Seal2's are in my mind the best things a guy could ask for on a winch. There have been many occasions where I've needed my winch to be smarter than me, and these easily accomplish that with the ability to monitor their temps and alert you when you're running it too hard. Well done COMEUP, proud to carry your product!
