    yea bud!

I freakn love this shifter kit! Stock was such a horrible feel. This Hurst unit is a huge improvement.

I ran the URD SS for a bit and still thought it was just a shorter throw of the goofy stock unit feeling. The Hurst has made me a better driver/shifter with this truck and made me much less pissed about the 6speed that is a rough shifter to begin with...

It is way better than stock and because it let some gear noise through it made me change fluid to mt90. That means my trans was making all that noise the whole time but I couldn't hear it with the stock shifter.

How much difference did you get in gear noise when you swapped fluid?

I find mine is really only noisy in 1st 3rd and 5th when you come onto the gas. Probably from all the insulation I removed. It really does need a heavier knob though.

I might have to switch fluid if you noticed a big difference.

I run mt90 as well. I still notice some noise in 1 3 & 5 under power bit it's minimal. I also wrapped an old bike tire tube around the stick under the grey boot

The gear noise with the stock fluid in sounded a little harsh and kind of crunchy in 1/3/5. After I changed to mt90 the noise changed to a normal gear whine.
It's just that the stock shifter hid those noises. I'm glad I chaged the fluid because it didn't sound right from factory.

There was a big difference in gear noise between the two fluids.

I see these have popped up on ebay.. Can you buy them directly from HURST?

EDIT: Looks like it is Core selling them on eBay.

I also received an email and replied. Mine did get stuck between 1st and 3rd once. That's the only time I've noticed anything.

Got the email and replied to it. I'm thinking the adapter is going to look like the one sconnieHailer has on his.

Anybody remember what size the allen hex bolts are that hold the shifter to the base? I need to go buy a bit to torque the hardware down.

You'll need a 6mm for the base, and 5.5mm for the bolts on the stick.

Thanks, I just went ahead and bought a full set of bits. I didn't use a torque wrench for the original install and wanted to use one for reinstallation of the new bracket. I did use locktight so nothing came loose anyway. Here's the new bracket from Core:

I just installed mine and went for a test ride. First impressions: I like the old position better. It feels too close, but maybe I'll get used to it.
