I have run flags at 70 mph on my bike. If you fly them please put a clevis pin through the pole and what ever you are using to support it. It the flag takes off on the road it could cause an accident.

So given the fact that it's over a year old, I think everyone in here has had a chance to make one if they were going to. Has anyone beside the Clemson fan done this?

    If so, :worthless:

gonna have the local fab guy make me one of these to mount to my bed up near the cab...

has a hole through the middle and will have a hole through the flagpole to pin it in. also has a notch in the top for a reel so you can also use it to hold a fishing rod. came up with this on autodesk inventor. let me know what yall think!

Been a while but I had it made and I fly my flags every day. Ill take some pics of the mount to post later. The powder coating on it is kinda shit but the thing is damn sturdy!

He really only does Jeep stuff. I tried to talk to him into expanding his customer base but he wasn't interested in taking the time to come up with new designs. I'm kind of surprised he made that for me as well as welded on my sliders. the one he made for my truck also will only fit a 1st gen bed. He made it to bolt on to the side closest to the cab. I'll be flying Ol' Glory today so I will get those pictures taken

This is my custom flagpole mount. It's a little rusty. I don't think the guy working for the guy who welded this up knew what he was doing with the powder coating because a lot of it chipped off. I'll be sanding and repainting one of these days. Other than that, I absolutely love this thing. I fly a flag on it every day.

    Thats pretty rad
thats pretty rad my man!! I dont have any welding skills, but my father has done welding bascally all his life. Hes just busy all the time and doesnt always have time to mess around with a project like this. The picture you posted might help get an idea of making one. THANK YOU!! Meanwhile i bought some supplies to make one a little less quality than yours. Ill post some pics when if it turns out as planed. Just curious how much you pay him for that?

I paid the guy I think $60. Not bad for mocking it up and powder coating it for me.

WOW, nice deal, those hitch ones cost like $150:eek:, Heres what i got. i just bought some supplies form home depot. Cost me like $15. the flag was like $30 :D. The current set up is 35-40 MPH proof. But ones i add the PVC pipe and attach that to the bed than im sure it will withstand 60MPH, so long as the Aluminum can take it lol. I decided to put mine at the end of the bed since i just got my Extang Solid Fold 2.0 ( which i review here) But anyways heres what i got before the PVC pipe. ** ***I drilled a hole in the flag pole where the little Black Knob screws in, it gives it a much more secure fit.

Here's what I came up with. Welded a piece of angle with a pipe. then bolted it on the bed. I have not tested it at high speeds yet but it feels very strong.

looks good OP!!!, thats what i was thinking at first, but than remembered that i have a bed cover and needs to be at the bottom of the bed, I would have paid you to make me one, im not much of a welder..:/ It looks alot more stable than mine and mine was good at 45MPH, im sure with a screw all the way through the pole youll be good at highway speeds

I just got a bucket and put a pvc pipe in it then filled the area around the pipe with cement. Then I drilled a hole through the pvc and the flag pole and have a screw holding it in. Completely removable and no modifications to the truck

Just finished this. Steel black pipe inside the PVC for rigidity, 2x12 on carriage bolts in the bed rail and I can put it where I want it.
