Need help 98 2wd tacoma

whats up guys I'm in need of some help just bought my son a 98 Tacoma 2wd auto v6
Check engine light is on I checked the code p0410 any help would be appreciated Aloha

sounds like dirty/clogged/old EGR

 

Is that fairly easy to do could you point me in the right direction that post looked like for a 4cyl mines is a 3.4

 

From searching the internet, the only conclusion I can find is the egr, since you don't have an air injection pump. All obd2 code sites say pump but that doesn't make sense. I would unplug the battery overnight and see if it pops up again if it isn't effecting performance, If the light comes back on get it run again and get them to give you all the options that pop up on the code

 

could be the egr valve needs to be cleaned. the pressure spring could be stuck open/closed and not cycling

 

I had an old '99. Sold it with 130k. Only thing that would pop up the check engine light was needing to clean the O2 sensor
